I mean it's generally just a job for young people trying to support themselves for school and those with no skill or ambition...
Worked in Taco Bell, Chili's (BOH/FOH) and Steak and Ale (FOH) in HS and college; some truth to the OP because big tables are a huge PITA but be organized and hustle!

I've worked in food service when I was younger and...yeah it fuking sucked.
That's part of why I got an education and a career...so I don't need to be an adult food tradie making a COPE thread like this (and serving tables in womens' work anyway) about how hard my completely unskilled job is and thinking it's some kind of flex.

Oh yea bro, me and all my homies have cushy remote tech jobs.
We just play league of legends and make gay jokes on discord all day. Most of us are doing like 5-10hrs a week of actual work.
Would be an awesome situation for a dad. But for me I probably just need to find a new job that actually makes me work and pays me even more money. No Shampoo crew
Always pick #4 crew
Dreamer bulk crew

OP, i'm not going to argue with you, I know I wouldn't. The food service industry is an insufferable horrible line of work.
I'll stick to my cushy office job where I technically only have about 4 hours of work to do that I try to spread out over an 8 hour period.
Being at some job where you actually have to work the full 8 hours (aside from two 15min breaks and a 30min lunch) on top of having a constant "customer service smile" is basically slavery in my eyes. I don't know how you do it.

LMAO like I said, Denny's doesn't count phĂ ggot. There's a reason why F&B people are all drug addicts and alcoholics. It's a very stressful job but with the potential to make a lot of money. Serving is a very underappreciated position but absolutely vital and probably the most important position in all restaurants.

If you hate your job, (I know I would) you should use that hatred as motivation to get the hell out of there. The absolute best beginner job that requires no experience is working security either at a bank, or hospital or Mall (preferably graveyard). The job pays well, 90% of the time its super chill, and although there's no upward mobility to the position, if you're working graveyard you have all the time in the world to study for online credentials while on the job....like cyber security.

-Dude I learned how to change my car oil from YouTube.
-I changed out my sink from YouTube.
- I changed my uncle's tile through how to's on the Internet and YouTube.
All these "skills" can easily be obtained through research. It takes character and resilience to be able to work on the food industry. That is something that CANNOT be taught.

I'm not trying to downplay the healthcare industry like how these incel downplay servers, especially not paramedics but RN's, they're maids. That being said, servers are thee most vital part of restaurants. If it was that easy, these cooks would be serving not cooking. It's a job not everyone could do and we deserve every dollar we get.

lol just so you know, paramedics have a chit ton of respect for RN's.
there's all kinds of levels of RN's. but on average, they have a lot more general medical knowledge than paramedics by far...
when I was a paramedic, many of us were actually trying to become RN's srs.
they got paid like double what we did.
