Why do BMW drivers drive like they give zero fuks? Do they not fear speed tickets?

The model doesn't matter, from the lowly base model 3 series all the way up to the 7 series. They all speed past everyone, lane change a lot, and may or may not use turn signals. Where are they going?

Was on the highway and some guy in a M550i was speeding past everyone.

I only just got a bmw but speaking from someone who had a RS Audi and AMG Benz prior the answer is simple.. the cars go fast without pressing too hard on the gas. Also speeding tickets get changed to impeding traffic which is a small fine. We don’t care about $200 and then there’s the fact that we buy cars like this because they’re fast.

It's 9/10 drivers no matter the car where I'm at. Everyone drives like they don't have a brain. I swear a lot of the time I'm the only person on the rode driving defensively.

I have a road bike and hit a lot of back road type routes and a few times have been buzzed by these idiots.

They have the entire road and they speed past me about 50 miles and hour and, literally, like 6 inches away. And there's usually a group of them, must be some ghey car club or something.

I have 3 BMW's, I drive by the traffic law inner streets. Yes, exactly speed LIMIT. Yes, always use turn signals. Yellow light means prepare to stop, not stomp on gas pedal. I do not look at phone when stopped at red light. I am very courteous to others and am not trying to race to a stop sign against anyone. On highways, same, but I usually go 5mph over speed limit if it's 65.

Maybe when I was younger, I was like one of those BMW drivers, but I wasn't driving a BMW. I drive in a very calm manner now, I like it better. No road rage.

Always though, Chrysler PT Cruiser drivers drive like GTA motherfukcers!

What I will do though is make a left hand turn into my corner house street 35mph zone right in front of a fukcer going well over the 35MPR speed limit. Sorry you had to stomp on brakes to slow down form being well over 15mph over the speed LIMIT. I have a camera right on that spot from my house. It will be your fault if we collide. I am not even rushing to make that turn, if you were going @ the speed LIMIT, it would be a total non-issue.

edit: They are 50 to 100 yards away from me in a 35mph zone. Even if they were going a little over the speed limit, I should be able to safely make that turn. But they are criminally over the speed limit like they are playing a video game. I am not making the turn where they really have to stomp on brake, but they have to slow down.

My house is less than 1 mile away from a high school in one direction and half a mile from a middle school. It is a corner house with a stop sign on the corner. The corner is blind, you can't see what is there till you make the turn. Never mind stop, fukcers don't even slow down for the stop sign. Have almost been in more than a few "accidents" (it's not an accident you ran the stop sign) just exiting my driveway. A kid from the highschool got hit by a car there a couple months back. Yes, I have a camera on that spot too. It wasn't needed to prove who was at fault for that kid. Luckily he didn't die.

I've found there's 3 types of BMW drivers

1) normal drivers who signal and drive respectfully (the rarest kind)
2) rich asians and trophy wives who don't know how to signal (not the best drivers but tolerable)
3) trust fund teenagers or young adult peasants who wanted a semi-quick car and clapped it out (by far the worst aggressors, weaving in and out of traffic, accelerating and braking way too quick)

But none of these are worse than Prius and Tesla drivers who like to use their regenerative braking on the freeway, and either accelerate way too fast only to cruise under the speed limit, or accelerate at a snail's pace to go under the speed limit. Always in the fast lane though. Maybe 1% of these drivers drive at normal speeds

A lot of BMW owners are younger people who bought older used BMW and just drive like scumbags.
