Anyone else think GTA 6 is going to suck?

I watched the trailer 3 times and just shook my head loling srs.

We waited over a decade just for an announcement and this is the product Rockstar is going to deliver?

Vice City again? The same boring rehashed setting. Remember in the 2000s when GTA games would be in a new city every game? Or San Andreas which introduced 3 cities in 1? Rockstar could’ve picked from dozens of different parts of the country, this shows they have no creativity anymore.

The graphics look no better than the 2 generation old GTA V either.




The story is dumb too. Looks like a Puerto Rican hoo-ah who gets out of jail, becomes an OnlyFans sloot in Miami, meets a gangbanger boyfriend and they turn into South Florida’s Bonnie & Clyde.

How long do you think it took for them to think up that genius plot? So much fkin creativity no wonder it’s going to be 12 years between releases (not srs lmao).

I'm not a huge gamer at all and you might look down your nose at GTA6 based on a trailer, but I would predict a few things here.

1 Rockstar doesn't miss on these projects. Red Dead 2 was incredible. It's not like they've lost their touch of late.
2 It'll be the greatest selling game of all time, that's a given
3 They played it safe going back to Miami but this is going to be entirely different, to say this map of a modern Miami FL is going to be "the same" or rehashed of the 2002 Vice City concept is laughable.

Fair enough. I agree RDR 2 was phenomenal. It blew my mind. However the story of RDR 1 was much better IMO.

I am also only a casual gamer. I haven’t even owned a console in years, GTA 6 would be a reason for me to get back into it and the trailer did nothing for me. When the GTA V trailer dropped I had chills and excitement every day until the game finally dropped.

Vice City was my least favorite setting of the old games. I realize it’s a modernized version, but still. All the social media camera angles and viral moments were so cringe in that trailer. If they incorporate a condensed version of Florida (not just Miami), some Caribbean islands and maybe parts of like coastal Georgia or the Carolinas, it would make it interesting. Hopefully Rockstar is still ambitious. They used to be.

You're 100% correct. Back in my day, games were not a racket. When you're discussing the majority of games today, in particular, big budget / publisher titles, these are actually rackets, store fronts posing as video games. There is an objective decline in the quality of what is being offered and also a decline in the quality of the customer. I don't find there is much of a customer base anymore, but more of a consumer base. It's a lot of kids racking up bills on their parents' credit cards and lonely people worshiping streamers and influencers who take payola from these publishers to make it seem as if playing the game is something that has to be done, or you're missing out on the scene you NEED to be a part of. They're just blindly throwing their money at it, they might be having fun, or think they're having fun, they're certainly occupying their time, but I don't find there is any meaningful return on the exchange of time / money, you're not getting value.

Those 2k sports games are virtually cut and paste from one release to the next, but people still buy that crap up and the company knows it. Almost zero effort and maximum return, they have zero incentive to change. Compared to games back in my day, this is a clear contrast. In my day, most games were shipped completely finished, working and fun with meaningful story lines and character development in single player games, the opposite is true now.

There isn't even a worthy story element in GTA 5, its financial success is entirely based on what I just described.

Instead of buying GTA 6 and playing it, I can just go onto social media and watch the stupid videos people put up of them doing dumb things for attention in desperation.

Halo is objectively bad now compared to back in my day, I can write you a dissertation paper on the topic. I don't play any modern Halo (4-6) because they're garbage. I knew 6 was going to be garbage just by looking at the game play, it's not the same game.

I don't know if 2 billion is the actual number but a ton of their spending goes into the online portion which they make so much money on its almost comical.
