BMW or Mercedes?

My wife works at a Mercedes dealer and I just bought a BMW. They were hating (not my wife). I’ve had both so I couldn’t care less one way or another but I wanna get the consensus opinion.

I wouldn't pay more than 40k for a BMW.

I would pay 80k for an S class though.

I say "BMWs are the poor man's Mercedes". Now that I'm almost 40, I don't care what they are as long as it's safe but the X5 I rented a few years back was unimpressive compared to a GLE.

Mercedes has always had the better interior. BMW has gotten better though. It's one of the few areas they've improved.

Aside from amazing seats the RS3 I had was the worst interior of the 3.

I don’t know much about Volvo

Best cars. Have to get inscription model for ventilated seats and 360 camera, also the airbag suspension is worth it. Prices out to be same or slightly less than Mercedes. We only drive volvos at the moment.

would never buy a modern bmw srs, they are all ugly as chit and bloated

only mercedes cars i would consider buying are the s-class, g-class, and the amg gt roadster

I’d say the reputation / image is similar. I’ve gotten the same reaction from people with the BMW that I had with my C43 AMG when I bought that. I would almost say it was 1 for 1. The Audi not so much unless it was a car enthusiast who knew what I had.

I know lexus is just a Toyota, but it's the only way to get Luxury, RWD and a V8/V6 with reliability. The V8 is going away, but the reliability will always be there. I agree on the BMW handling, yet we rarely ever get to test a car's cornering unless you're at a track.
