The status of having an American Express card?

I was listening to Coach Greg Adams podcast the other day and he mentioned that you get a huge bump in perceived status with women if they see you have an American Express credit card. A few other guys in the chat confirmed it was definitely a thing.

Can anyone confirm? I searched here and saw Lefticle made a post in 2020 that girls mire when using an Amex. I do not understand what the big deal is about an Amex vs any other card. I can understand if you have one of those heavy metal cards but it sounds like the status is just from having a card that says American Express on it but I'm not sure what the value in that is vs any other card.

I just got Amex Preferred because it gives 6% cash back on groceries up to 6k per year. I should have went for the American Express gold card.

Since there are various types of Amex cards they only mire the Amex Platinum and Centurion Black. Any other type of Amex card not so much.

I have amex platinum from schwab. I have heard a few ladies in the retail space comment on the card.

This is what I'm wondering, what is it about the Amex in particular that makes it stand out with women in particular? Is it a metal card?

I understand women are illogical at best but I don't understand what it is about a card that says American Express vs one that says Master Card or Visa ect.

I'm not trying to derail the thread debating the benefits of using the card.

Yes. I have the platinum with the flower motif they offered recently. I get comments about the card multiple times a week. Chick at a restaurant asked what I did for a living. lol

Most people don't have $1k in savings. They can't get a card that has a $650 annual fee.

It's definitely not a sign that you're wealthy. But it's a good sign you make $100k+ and probably travel some. That's enjoying to impress most common sloots.

It's 100% true. For whatever reason, bitches will think you're a better guy for having an AMEX.

But they're probably not the best women. I was in the AMEX Centurion lounge yesterday in LAX, and it's always a bunch of low status girls with a bunch of tattoos in these lounges or random 6/10 fat career girls sitting around by themselves throwing eyes hardcore at the guys in there.

Basically, if you want to meet a 6/10 girl with little personality earns $150k+ and has a very high opinion of herself, go around flashing your AMEX card.

I pay them off every few days and get more than the annual fees worth from them. We spend around 150-200k in personal spend and 200-300k in business spend a year.

I'm surprised AMEX gives you limits. Apparently I am allowed to spend up to $70k on my AMEX Platinum before they would reject a purchase.

Have to call if I want more than 100k but I don't buy anything bigger than 10k. Tried to buy a car once but the dealer would only do 20k on cc due to fees. Told me they only do 5k normally.

Put this in your chrome url, then add as bookmark. Then click the bookmark when logged in as amex and it will auto add all rewards to your card. I do it on each of our cards every few weeks and randomly use a bonus I wasn't expecting.

Lol, while it's true that having an AMEX longterm does distunguish whether someone is financially stable enough to keep paying $695 per year without having to cut expenses, it's hilarious listening to their opinion about what makes someone a mogger.
