Hey all,
My lifts are currently:
275 squat (3x, haven't tried maxing on squats yet)
260 bench
365 deadlift
900 total
I don't use any assistance (straps, gloves, belt) but did use chalk with mixed grip to get that deadlift.
Are belts allowed when joining the 1000 pound club? I feel my squat could greatly improve with the help of a belt (hockey player here).
Edit: 5'9" @ 185 lbs and male

Almost at the 1000 pound club - can you use a belt?

Nope. And watch out @ the 1200 pound club you can no longer use your legs either.

LIES! The Committee Of Chosen Knights Who Have Orders Regarding Evaluating Submissions (C.O.C.K.W.H.O.R.E.S.) for the 1000lb Club require certified video evidence of the accomplishment to be submitted for consideration by the Committee. The evidence must clearly show the absence of any "cheating" aids, such as shoes, weightlifting belt, knee wraps, knee sleeves, wrist wraps, wrist straps, underwear, oxygen, or food.
In other news, I am disappoint. I thought this thread would be about someone hitting 1000lbs in a single lift.
...then I remembered what website I was on.

Im hitting 1000 today once i go in & deadlift at least 405. Hopin for 415 tho. I will be using a belt, chalk, pasta & burrito- so its cheating.
Next goal, 1100 before the year is up!My Training Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=149612633

I hear olympic bars are assistance and thus cheating. If you really want to be part of the 1000 lbs club you have to go out into the wild, cut down a tree, and create logs to the weight you want to lift. Then you will be strong for your size.
