EV vehicles are the covid vax of the auto industry-sales 82% lower than projected LOL

"EV sales this year are 82% lower than projected this year - almost nobody wants them. Up to 30,000 employees will probably get laid off before January (including my dad)"

Ford is ending EV production, GM is ending EV production, various Euro car makers are ending EV production, everyone has been complaining about big money losses, all the customers are complaining about unreliable vehicles that are prone to catching on fire, the problems go on and on.

EV's really haven't panned out the way big politicians wanted them to. It's a product that is extremely popular among the political ruling class elite (even though they don't buy or drive them themselves), that the general public simply isn't warming up to.

I have a Plaid wouldn't trade it for another car. But sure wouldn't buy any EV excluding Tesla. Never fill up with gas and have only used one supercharger. Great car as long as your not making a lot of 300 mile plus trips.

I think it's a lot like owning any battery powered electronic device. Cool at first, but eventually that battery will lose it's ability to hold charge and it won't be as great as it once was. Problem here is how that's your primary means of transportation losing it's ability to travel.

Lol, after 200,000 miles average rang lost is 12%. I'll sell my cars every 2-3 years its not an issue.

Not sure why all the visceral hate, I think you guys hate them because hippies love them. I hated them also until i drove one, now 2 Tesla's later never switching back. Don't have to be a green freak to enjoy 1,000 HP daily driver that's reasonably priced.

Well if you do that much driving and change cars that quickly I suppose you're one of those people who it can work well for.

Not such a good thing for people who don't drive like that and like to keep their cars for more than a couple years, which is a lot of people. Most people.

This really brings me to the biggest problem with these EV's: they're disposable cars. Nobody is going to bother with fixing them when the batteries expire, they will just scrap them and buy a new one. When the carbon footprint of producing these things is off the scale like it is with EV's, you aren't fixing our environmental problems with that consumerism approach.

remember back in 08 or so when they blamed American auto manufacturers for making SUVs when people really wanted great gas mileage. Well that didn't last real long either. And at that time, not sure how it is now, the vast majority that bought hybrids didn't replace it with another hybrid

Problem with hybrids is complexity, they're good cars to lease, bad cars to own long term.

Everything is going the disposable route, can't even own a washer, dryer or dishwasher for more then a couple years before they break.

Everything I've read about EVs points to it being a trend that is unsustainable and will push automakers to the brink of bankruptcy if they jump all in on that boat.

"Despite the fact EV's a bull****

Despite the fact that a 5 hour trip cross country now takes 2 days

Despite the fact that I'm going to get a £20,000 battery replacement charge every 3 years

Despite the fact that the entire car is under the remote control and management of the car company, the electric grid and the software

Despite the face I don't want a TV on my ****ing dashboard

    Despite all this

Electric cars just simply do not excite me.

Nothing can replace the feel of a roaring engine.

Nothing can replace the feel of shifting a stick, releasing a clutch and pushing an accelerator down and letting that motor surge

Nothing can replace the feel of lifting the hood and tinkering around with that lump of metal.

So F_UCK THIS FUTURE COMPUTER CAR BULL****

You know for a fact one day your going to jump in that EV and say 'to the beach' and it's going to say 'I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that. Going to the beach without a civic order section 72.8 is against the law. You are permitted to go to one of the 17 locations on the screen. Please select'"

"Your social credit score has been deactivated for requesting an illegal location. Under section 6666, you will now be incinerated. Thank you for riding in Tesla, we love you.

"It is about control. They can easily shut off the electric grid whenever they want. They also know it's too much of a hassle to drive one very far, so it will help lock everyone down in their "smart cities" where we can walk everywhere. And on, and on, and on."

"AND, no one has mentioned; what about when the battery is a year or two old? A charge will only last half as long, then 25% as long later.

My current cell phone had a great battery life 18 months ago when I bought it. Now the battery life is 1/3 what it was only 18 months ago.

The EV batteries are basically the same. Lithium rechargeable batteries."

"This is all part of the plan. EV ownership isn't for everyone. There are so many reasons why EV on a mass scale won't work, but don't get focused on that part. EV is intended to end automotive ownership for the masses."
"The reason we are being murdered with genetic altering drugs is its slow acting and it causes your body to malfunction and destroy itself so there is a "plausible deniability" factor. Unlike most poisons which leave more evidence of being the direct cause of death."

Not sure why all the visceral hate, I think you guys hate them because hippies love them. I hated them also until i drove one, now 2 Tesla's later never switching back. Don't have to be a green freak to enjoy 1,000 HP daily driver that's reasonably priced.
You do realize Tesla has been lying like crazy about their range and is facing a lawsuit regarding this, right? JFL at Tescels.

Ironic when they're the people who are refusing to consume latest product.
