why are trainers using inbody scans if they're supposedly not accurate?

even the manager who has many years of experience is telling me he uses it as well as his clients. am I being lied to and scammed? he says it's fairly accurate if you prep right.

    Two main reasons:

    1. People don't really care, they just eat the results up as fact.
    2. The results can still be useful even if inaccurate, as long as they are consistent. I.e. if it misses by 5%, but its always consistent, you can still track progress. So if you measure in at 15% bodyfat but it is in reality 20%, then next time you measure in at 10% but its in reality 15%, well at least you know you lost 5% which is a lot more useful than the number being exactly correct.
    390 back squat
    285 bench press
    500 deadlift (I don't DL anymore)
