A near perfect food IMO. Much lower mercury and contaminant levels than tuna. More omega 3s than tuna, which can help lower LDL cholesterol. As far as cholesterol goes, what it is about 80-90 mgs a serving? A single egg has 200mg or more. Better source of calcium and other minerals than tuna. Dirt cheap at a buck per tin or less. Get the kind in water and there wont be any added sodium.
They're really good in a spinach salad with cherry tomatoes and caesar salad dressing.
Canned salmon is also a good alternative to tuna. About the same price as solid white albacore tuna, but again more omega 3s and canned salmon is always wild salmon (pinks), which is generally more nutritious and less contaminated than farmed salmon or most canned tuna species.http://www.bitegrease.com
