Have you ever won a random drawing?

I haven't. I don't enter hundreds, but I've entered a number over the years and have never won anything. No major or minor prizes.

The guy across the street from me has a shiny '59 Corvette. I just found out he actually won it in a raffle.

Played baseball all during my youth. Not one damn trophy Almost. One game Freckled Freddy over-threw to third base and Flat-Face Hank of course missed it and the playah ran to home and we lost. One of the first times I said 'fuk' out loud.

When I was 14 or 15 I was second string to a great 112lb wrestler, I could easily wrestle 101 or 112 but the coach's son was 101 so that was out. The 112 guy was IMO slightly better than me but always intimidated me in wrestle offs so I never got to wrestle as much as him.

So the 112 was 12-0 and a state champ was 12-0 at a tourney and coach said "we'll just send out Bando, save Doug's record for states."

I wrestled the state champ to a tie, made the newspaper etc.

People talk about "online bullying" lol, my life was misery after that.

Less than a month before I'm 50 and I have all my hair and 99% of its original color, no dentures, all my teeth, I don't p*ss nor sh*t myself, and my penor still works.

When I was a kid, I was big into Hockey and I got picked to attend Hockey school with bunch of NHL players as instructors. That was my biggest win.


The latest was during a fishing derby, at a fundraiser 50/50 draw. They give you half a ticket and you write your name on the other half. I was quite surprised when they announced for A. Dick to come up to claim the prize. I never write my real name on things and always mess around, I do the same at drive thru's, or other places, if they ask, they will get a funny name.

To be clear, I have won some trophies and ribbons over the years. I was the 1981 high jump champion of what is now the Horizon League and won a bunch of other ribbons and medals in college and high school track. As an older runner, I've received a bunch of participation medals and a few actual ones. I have a trophy for the 2nd least slow old fat guy at the Tulsa marathon (2nd place over-40, over 230 lbs) and won 1st place in the over 250 lb Clydesdale division in a 5k.

Don't actually know where any of those are or if I still have them. I know I don't have the track hardware.

I'm talking about random drawings: sweepstakes, raffles, etc. I'm o'fer on those.

I won a free lunch at a local meat and three. I got Fried Steak, mashed potatoes, pinto beans and extra cornbread.

One of the top 5 lunches of my life.

When I was in 1st grade our school had a carnival. I won a desk made from heavy cardboard.

Now I just enter drawings for guns. Have won 3. The best was a $20 dollar ticket that won a Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon over/under shotgun. It's a $2000 shotgun.

There could be 100 tickets in a hat with 99 of them being mine and I would still not get picked. That being said I did win a certificate at the Dierks Bentley concert a couple weeks ago, nothing huge but it paid for 2 large pretzels and an expensive drink which was over $26 total....yep big fukkin winner there.

I was 15 and I won a newspaper contest to see 8 mile two days before it officially came out in theaters.

I saw it Wednesday November 6th, everyone else had to wait until the 8th.

It was the single greatest thing that ever happened to me.
I even got an 8 mile hat and soundtrack (which I already owned, so then I had two copies)

I forgot about this until now, but back in the 80s I worked nights and had a radio. One night the station had some giveaway for the 8th caller. I called and was the first. I waited awhile and called back and was the 7th. I said "so if I call back I'll be the 8th?". He said "right", so I hung up and called back and was the 8th. I don't remember what I won.
