Dating one is just like dating any Asian chick, but their food is....kinda gross. It's a mixture of Asian and Mexican (because of the spainards) so they'll make a delicious stir-fry dish but drench it in lemon juice. When they make spaghetti (which is a weird obsession for some reason) the sauce they use is sweet and more along the lines of ketchup, and they don't add meatballs to it either. The only thing they do right is lumpia but they're just poverty eggrolls.

I don't doubt there are cases of Fillipinos ballin', but to say that it's the norm for them to be ballin is a stretch. Most are what I would call "working class" which means tradies, and yes, I include nursing in the tradie category because it's a physical form of work.

Never heard of Fillipinos buying up entire neighborhoods, but I have heard of Chinese buying up entire neighborhoods.

I've seen a fair share of male Filipino doctors, but never a female one.

Many Filipinos don't look completely asian, because they're not. They would be more of a Polynesian, Asian, Spanish mix. One I went out with a few times looked completely Hispanic.

Both were extremely affectionate in the hugging and kissing way, but also had libidos off the charts. Even after being together a long time, sex at least once a day was a given.

They were both very outgoing and got along with all of my friends and family well. They were usually the best looking girl in any room, even though one was very low maintenance. The other one was the epitome of high maintenance, and that got annoying real quick.

I don't regret my time with either of them, but I'm also happy I moved on.

Agreed entirely. I've been there a couple times, and Filipino food is literally the worst in the entire world. They take food that is somewhat edible, and add sugar and other things to make it absolutely gross.

Filipinos are the second highest earning Asian group in America after Indians. All the ones I've met are either in medical, engineering, military or some sort of govt work (including usps). If you're only meeting the poverty ones then I think that says more about you than them. ANd I do believe Canada has some sort of immigration program that allows low-skilled foreigners to enter the country and fill vacant positions in certain industries. It's a much better system than America where we look the other way and allow illegal mexicans to cross over to fill those same positions except it's under the table on an all cash basis.

The food does suck, though. Aside from a few select dishes I really would rather go for authentic chinese, vietnamese or thai food. Singaporean, Malay and Indonesian food is similar -- all just a poorly done mix of chinese, indian and muslim cuisines. Hardly looks edible.

So you got that for staying there for 5 days and talking to a few people in a small town? You know there are more than 100M Filipinos there, right?
I'm Filipino but I've been away for 19 yrs. So my opinion is probably outdated but we are culturally diverse due to Spanish, American, and Japanese occupation plus the millions of Chinese and Indians who settled there. Our culture is different depending on where you are. We have hundreds of dialects, every province has different types of foods/delicacies. We have different colors too.

I dont know where OP lives but anywhere I go here in the US, I see a lot of Filipino nurses. Also OP, there are different types of "nurses", there are CNA, LPN/LVN and RN. Usually CNAs and some LPNs are the ones doing the backbreaking job. The RNs not so much. Then recently, lots of Filipino kids going for Computer Science. There are also a lot of Filipinos just enlisting after highschool.

I think Filipinos trying to be black depends on the generation/age and location. I don't see anything wrong with that. They probably grew up in the neighborhood or probably have a lot of black friends.

I'm old, almost 50 so Filipinos during my time are different than the younger generation. I think most younger gen now regardless of ethnicity is just dumb or prefer to act dumb.

It depends what family you come from. But for the most part, Filipino culture is on the low end of the Asian pyramid. Very poor country. Hard work isn't really ingrained into the masses like it is in Japan, Korea, or even China. It has a small kid attitude. Doesn't have much influence on the world stage. A lot of the people are insecure. And funny enough, Filipinos are racist against other Filipinos. Lots of colorism.

I personally would rather have some good Filipino food over all of those. Serious. Authentic Filipino food is so good but it's just hard to prepare. But I do suck at cooking so that may be it.
