I can tell you I once paid to take a course (that plenty of people used) to study for the CCNA. I was sceduled and the placed just closed before my date. I only got a portion of my money back and never could take thier course. I got SCAMMED there.......

You look to the Internet for all your knowledge, which means you are not smart. The Internet does not know everything and the Internet does not know what is true or not true.

I got screwed on the CCNA course because the entire system is a con a scam. I was a newbie who lost my career and was looking for another line of work, however I wasn’t working for an IT company and never have before, I had no connections on the best route to take.

I had some strong knowledge in IT networking but even that won’t garentee that you will pass the CCNA because it tests you on CISCO products and protocols that aren’t even in use anymore Like spanning tree and other outdated things hence why the course is important. Those certs don’t mean chit and are a fuking scam. It’s sonething though that will get a foot in the door.

Network+ was the better route (I know this now, but not then) but that test has stuff that was way outdated and I had the CISCO books and a virtual lab plus a packet tracer.

That industry is just fuked. The whole reason I went with CISCO because the smartest kid in class wrote CCNA on the board and said “I’d want to get a good job, get this cert” so that’s what I went for.

He laughed at the network+ which really was the better one to not throw away money.
