Thinking of switching over to safety bar squats to better fit with MMA training. Currently squat with a straight bar and my lower back is generally the limiting factor. I also find the lower back fatigue can mess up my sport training the following day. Was thinking of switching to safety bar as it allows for a more upright position and better stimulus on quads. Can anyone confirm?

Don't know why you'd even train. Judging from your profile pic, you're perfect as is.

Someone with as much dense lean mass as yourself shouldnt waste their time with safety bar squats. Judging from what I've seen here its time to either go to the darkside or focus 100% on mma training. You're easily at your natty potential, if not surpassing it. Besides you'd probably have to sign up at a specialty gym with thin kilo plates and stronger bars to hold all the weight you'd be horse cawkin around, not worth the monthly fee. You'd probably be a middle weight after shredding down to 5-6% bodyfat for fight night. Looking forward to seeing you break into the UFC middleweight rankings in 2024.
