Changing your oil takes like 15 minutes. It's more of a hassle to take your car in to get it done.

Comes down to trust IMO. I don't trust any shops besides one small town one. Either do it myself or have that shop do it when I need other things fixed as well. Always more of a hassle because you need someone to pick you up and drop you off as well

This. Unless your time is useless to you. I can change my oil in about 15 minutes total. I would have to drive 15 minutes somewhere, check in, wait for somebody to help me, then either sit around some shop for a couple of hours, them a 15 minute drive home. Or you get a ride home and then have to go back and forth multiple times. Getting it done somewhwere is at least 3 hours of time wasted.

I change the oil in my 3 trucks, 2 tractors, dozer, skid steer, 2 riding mowers and a boat with a 4 stroke mud motor.

I change my own oil on all my vehicles and I've rarely met anyone that does this because lack of finances.
