I started coming here over 10 years ago to learn aboot training protocols, nutrition, supplementation, and considered the place a valuable resource. As a bonus I gained inspiration from peeps, had some lulz, and even made a few friendships.
I'm finding lately that the place has become predominantly negative - at least from my POV. I'm aware that all things change and that's cool. However, I'm feeling that the negativity is suboptimal and it's prolly time to move on, but maybe I'm not the only one finding the place too negative, so why not make a thread to maybe gain some further insight. What's the worst that can happen?
Whatever happens, I still love u guys. Even my fellow dip$hits.

Chazzy, Chazzy, Chazzy. This place is what you make it. Sure, there are a few who wear their feelings on their sleeves and you have to walk on egg shells or they will report you for being a meenie, but for 99% of the time, it is ok.
You make me laugh all the time. Even when you're serious, you make me laugh. When you call out Sassie-Girl Cassie, I laugh
Since you're up there in CanadiaLand, you just need some home cooking. Boil up yourself and your family some fresh seal with some potatoes and carrots and leaks. That is my prescription for you and you will feel all better.
Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

CHAZ YOU ARE 100% CORRECT IN THAT OBSERVATION
1. it has infiltrated not just R+P but every subforum.
2. Rather that sticking to the topic they go after you personally or things that you have said.
3. The Misc has some seriously mentally ill folks.
4. Lots of racism against all groups.
5. i tried to talk about bodybuilding and only a handful are here for that.
6. there are a few of us still here for the intended purpose but most are here to complain, bitch, whine, and "dunk on" others.
It is sad to see. There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

There is no other forum like this where I don't have to worry aboot snowflakiness and hurt feelings in the sense that they don't ban me. I get "reprimanded" in all other places for being too sassy, not here though, here I just get insulted and I prefer free speech like dat!
But the level of sadness and mental illness is another level that's for sure.

We all use to be on here fully torqued on OG Jack3d before and after the gym. Once they banned it everything went down hill. We had Miscers from all different walks of life who had good advice on a bunch of different topics. Gifs and photoshop were just becoming a thing and the lulz poured in. Then everyone slowly moved on with their lives and the positive posters that picked people up and gave good advice moved on. Now people just argue and fight with eachother and the brotherhood is gone.
That’s why I left from 2012-2022. (Ded srs)

Well shvt X-....wish you hadn't brought me into this thread.
Personally....this is the 'misc' forum but it's morphed into a political one with the typical snarky responses which is perfect way to keep me from polluting the forum..
A forum that doesn't need to be about 'bodybuilding"....other forums are for that specific.
This one is designed to talk about personal interests and interacting on various 'non bodybuilding' topics with people of like mind.
No....you haven't rid me yet from chiming in on occasion.

This is one of the few remaining places that isn't under pressure by the cancel culture snowflakes to censor open thought. And the basis for that is the resilience and inner strength required by bodybuilding. People with the inherent drive for self improvement and self enlightenment aren't easily swayed by the politically correct sheeple mentality of those who aren't innovative thinkers and must follow the crowd, searching for acceptance and identity.
In other words: Get off our lawn. And take your languid sycophants with you. And find a gym near you, and learn what it means to be truly empowered.

This place is just following the evolution that all chat rooms, discussion boards, etc have suffered.
great people meet to share and discuss
trolls move in
the same arguments repeat over and over ad nauseum
good people leave .... die hards stay .... everything devolves
might as well stay because anywhere you go it will end up the sameI don't necessarily agree with everything I say.

Traps are lagging, just want to get them back to where they were when I was deadlifting heavy. Current situation doesn't allow me to fight for plates then spend 2 days recovering from heavy deads. Figured "what the hell, I'll just give them their own day." That was nice, did rack deads, trap bar shrugs, military rows, facepulls and seated shrugs, to get them nice and roasted. Thing is that throws everything off by a day so had to do the the back bi's/chest tri's thing which my body never responds to. Now I'm thinking 3 sets traps on shoulder day and 3 sets on back day, in order to keep my dedicated arm/forearm day.
Thoughts?Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

Awesome fooking replies, fo shizz. At first I started clicking the multi quote thing, butt then realized it was too damn many and I'd be here all night typing and nobody needs that.
Instead I'll sincerely say it's positive energy ITT which is appreciated. Positivity being on a spectrum I reckon like most things.
Anyways, Greggy's right as always. I'm not going anywhere. I should write a song aboot this place. Maybe Rick Ruben will produce it. The album cover will definitely be this.
What might be interesting tho is a "put up or shut up" section here where you gotta post recent bod pics every 6 months or so. I'm thinking to foster a degree of accountability or whatever. A quick swelfie or go to town and go full frozensparky. Just keep it tasteful, plz.

Chaz, there are still nuggets of gold and stuff to learn here. But agreed that the nuggets are more sparse and better hidden. You have to be far better at sifting.
But I would say that it's not just this site affected. Politics are more vocal and partisan/negative than ever (especially US but elsewhere also), that virus was like a mega dose of r01ds for negativity and partisan views.
We'd be poorer without you, but I'd argue you'd be poorer too, because there are still nuggets to be found (occasionally!). Visit less often and be more discerning with what you reply to. That's my advice. Hope you stay.
Very best wishes, take care and stay well - keep training, if you decide not to come back

Come on Ben, this kind of negativity is part of the problem. Who's on this thread?
Me
You
Chaz
LWW
Mark1T
Narrator02
Bando
Startingat56
Iron Charles
Cass40
Wayne Evans (OK retired from lifting but surely his background makes him beyond question)
DeadwoodGreg
HighTide11
I don't know HighTide (giving benefit of the doubt), but would you like to suggest who on this thread isn't lifting regularly, and if that is "most".
Sure if you wander too widely on this site it goes downhill rapidly, but the >35 is committed training people for the largest part
