People buy this chit to try to make themselves feel better but in reality, they are just ensuring they have to work for Mr. Sheckelstein for an extra 5 years while they pay down their negative equity. The public school system was ALWAYS designed to turn plebs into slaves. Consumerism is just a piece of the puzzle to keep you working like a slave well into your 60s with basically nothing to show for it.

Tracking my net worth makes me hate any depreciating asset. Brb increase net worth only to have to manually drop it down due to a vehicle depreciating another 10%, and that's paid off. Even worse if you have a payment.
That said, I do it, we all have to do it, but minimize it if possible.Positive crew. 6'2" Crew. Bloatmax Crew.

So many old school rides with sick engines and sticks that I don't think you need to spend anymore than 20K to have a great ride (though its gonna be older and you'll need to have a timing belt and water pump changed).

BMW section of that site is stacked too (though you may find yourself replacing the timing chain and tensioner for the BMWs). Why drive new souless slushboxes for 70K?

I see all kinds of highly modded BMWs and an F-body with bolt ons racing on the 'ring, with Konis, and some weight reduction makes every single BMW look completely silly.
427 surprisingly isn't the best motor. My friend did go heads cam and makes mid 600 hp. Sick af car. But a few too many problems with lifters on that motor. I'd personally go with the LS3.
My 40k car realistically only loses like $200 a month in depreciation tops. Meanwhile a classic I have appreciates. Not to mention the appreciation on my home of $1k a month. It's a drop in the bucket that I no longer consider. I'd rather enjoy a great car.
Dem GV70s vibes. Developing Sport and Sport + modes is the greatest innovation to me, after ACC and LKAS. TFW no play in steering.Last edited by _zman; 03-08-2023 at 09:09 AM.

LOL at this post. I'm someone looking to buy a used German, but You're trying to get somebody killed my man. The 2014 S4 is probably the only ok thing on your list. OLD BMWs and Audis will kill you.
If you're gonna go used BMW get the B58. Their V8s are terrible. Mercedes has a TT V6/V8 which look reliable for the most part. Audi, I'm not sure. Maintenance wise, they're on par with BMW V8. They also look like the hardest for DIY work.

In stock form they definitely have their issues, but once you address the entire valvetrain with a proper heads/cam setup you have an N/A monster easily making 600+ whp in an extremely well sorted chassis. It's crazy that with a few basic mods they can go run 9's from a dig, decimate cars making 100-300 whp more from a roll, then swap wheels/tires and run neck and neck or beat most exotics on the road course. Just an extremely impressive car all around.

Some people like fast/nice cars and there is nothing wrong with that if they can afford it. Enjoy the nice things in life if you want as long as it isn't stressing you out. I will get another nice vehicle within the next 2-3 years. No point in penny pinching until your 75 then you have maybe 3-4 years to enjoy it before you are dead or not able to move around a lot.

It's unfortunate they couldn't keep the weight down in the C8, but it's still quite an impressive vehicle. I think that low weight in the C6 Z06 makes all the diff. It's an amazing machine. I still kinda want one, but no decent canyons or road courses around here. Maybe when I move...
