Worst case scenario, a doctorate would give me a $10,000 bump per year over my master's degree, and best case scenario, it affords me a variety of new options job-wise.
Looking into EdD programs in Administration, Higher Education, Special Education, and a couple that aren't EdD. There's a Doctor of Arts program nearby in teaching English that's very affordable and lines up nicely with my master's focus (English language learning).
Going to start applying in the spring probably for a spot to begin in the fall.

It's not about the money. My wife and I are very comfortable already. I really only brought that up to prevent a bunch of questions about why I would spend so much money on college. My point was that it pays for itself in a few years max.
And maybe. There's a community college nearby that I could see myself teaching at sometime down the road. I would certainly have the experience/qualifications to teach elementary education and special education to aspiring teachers if I want to go that route.
