One more thing to add, I go to Gold's gym, and its a great gym with some pretty cool people. But I don't understand why they have a fat dude, who's belly flops over his belt there as a sales person. Doesn't make any sense to hire fat people to sell gym memberships.

OMG I cant believe what I did today due to retardness of someone else. I was doing seated shoulder press with db's an went to get the 28kg ones as thats my max at the moment. I can only just get these up on my own but can press them fine.
Anyway there I am about to get them up in position, an I have serious trouble with my right arm. im like wtf has my arm just died or something. Tried about another 3 times to get them up, making loud random noises and looking like im having a fit.
So I just assume that for some reason im having a bad day and go to get the 26kg db's instead but on my way back I walk past a single 28kg db on the rack where it clearly should be. So I look down and I have a 34kg in my right hand, lulz.
I felt a right tool, but next time I shall double checking that the right weights are where they should be. Really annoys me when people cant put them back in the right place, its not difficult.

i cant believe my first post in bodybuilding.com forums will be to this thread.
if you throw down the weights from height after completing your set and never mind of racking them because you have a well defined muscular body, you are all time #1 gym idiot. i mean, yes you look great man, perfect body with great cuts. but this never gives you the right to do the sh*t you are doing, pr*ck.

no.1 welcome to the forum
no.2, we got rubber encased weights at my gym and a rubber floor, so its not much of a big deal now, but i remember in my old gym we had metal dumbells and so many of them were coming loose from the handles cos people kept doing it, but you gotta allow some room for those guys who bench really high weight doing 3 or 4 rep sets, its nearly impossible to put em down in a controlled manner

man, of course you are tired. but i dont believe that you are not able to put down properly and rack the weights that you have already pushed up for some sets. in case you are using great weights that you cant put down, ask a buddy who should be assisting you for your own safety during your hi weight workouts.

you guys think your gyms bad? the old gym i used to train at before i went more hardcore, full of posers. One guy actually stopped in front of the mirror and pull out a tub of gel from his bag and spent the best part of 10 minutes gelling it!! what a tool.

I hate it when you have the dude that weighs a buck fifty or less and tries to tell me how to do proper form. I take it alot of folks dont know about hitting different angles and or the different fibers in your muscles, slow reps and exploding reps use diff fibers. I also hate the naked guys in the locker room man WTF dude put some freaking draws on. I also ABHORE the high school kids that scream at the top of there lungs " CMON!!", yah like thats gonna make a difference on how much you lift,.... PHUCKING IDIOTS. And to me the worst ones...... you see me standing at my station, yet you still have the nerve to come ask me if im done yet, I think the proper way to ask is " do you happen to know how many sets you got left?" giving that thats the only station of its kind in the entire gym. I also hate it when I go get a drink of water and come back, and some stupid ass mofo has taken my machine when there are 2-3 more machines that are exactly the same right next to each other.Dude WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
JUST DO IT!!!

The reason why doing curls in the squat rack makes you an uber retard is there are preacher curl benches and curling stations; you are a huge waster of resources and the fact that you want to displace the weight of your curl is to no benefit to you and especially not to people who like to ****ing squat! You whores! /rant

This is a great thread. Here's one of my favorite stories.
I'm doing seated calf raises at my old gym. There are two seated calf raises in this gym, side-by-side, the other which is being used by someone else. I had just finished two or three sets and had two (45 lb.) plates and quarters on each side. I get up to get a sip of water from the fountain only five feet away and, sure enough, someone decides to jump in. I should add that this guy was very tall, out of shape and didn't really look as if he knew what he was doing.
Not a problem, I say to myself. So I walk back over to the machine and being the nice guy that I am I ask the guy if he'd like to work in. He gives me this weird (definitely unfriendly) look and in the most manly, macho voice you ever heard he says "yeah.." Now I'm thinking, "*******."
So Machoman, apparently not content with the weight I already have on is going to show me, the bodybuilding meathead, up and throw another plate on each side on top of the quarters. Apparently, he was above warming up. At this point, the guy on the next machine is looking at me because we both know what's about to happen. And normally, I'd do something to prevent Machoman from doing his set but I just couldn't under the circumstances (i.e. he's Machoman, tough guy, apparently showing off, etc.).
So I turn around and just look at the mirror for a couple of reasons; I don't want to laugh in this guy's face but at the same rate this is something I just can't miss.
Machoman proceeds to do his "set" and immediately after he takes the weight off the rack, it comes crashing down. The idiot needs to wiggle out of the machine. Frankly, I think he wiggled his ass out the gym. Sure enough he did not clear the weights which I had to remove for him and get the weight up on the rack to finish my sets.
Now, I may be somewhat of an ******* for allowing that to occur, but that was a gym idiot.Last edited by gumbacicc1; 05-08-2009 at 02:10 PM.

F*cking hate this! Have a full spec gym idiot at my gym, does the majority of dumb ass sh*t but this is his speciality. Throwing the weights down from standing height then adopting a semi most muscular pose to walk over to the water fountain. He even throws his mobile phone about after texting between sets. Too big to put sh*t down.

You tell me if this guy is a tool...
I am doing DB rows, and when I finish a set he walks up and, noticing I don't use wrist wraps or gloves, says "Have you considered using wrist wraps, they isolate better." My response was, "I don't use wrist support because they rob you of your grip strength. I used to use a back belt, wraps, and gloves, but it's been a couple years."
This shoulda been the end of the convo, I thought it was a good answer, but he went on for a bit about the awesome benefits of wrist wraps?
It would be one thing if I as a 'noob or if I was screaming about the pain in my wrists or something, but the fact that I was clearly decided should have ended it.
He went from "Helpful Gym Buddy" to, "Friggin' Know-it-All".
I see people doing stuff ALL THE TIME that I find stupid or wasteful, but I shut my trap unless they are in real danger.ooxxooXoXXx

If you work your chest 3x per week, but never work your rear delts, rhomboids, or rotator cuffs...
Starting weight: 225lbs (January 2007)
Current weight: 178lbs (5/16/09)
Stuck at ~10-11% BF for 2 months. Starting carb cycling on June 1st to try to break through that plateau.

Pretty much a tool. I hate it when people try to push their "logic" on me at the gym, and in this case, his reason for using straps is completely off base. "Better isolation"?? All they do is allow you to hold more weight than your hands can grip on their own. If you have good grip, straps are not necessary.
