If you have never once (excluding physical injury that prevents you) considered using your own body weight as resistance (pull-ups, dips, etc.) you are a gym idiot.

If you show up at the gym wrapped in hefty bags to try and lose weight...you're probably an idiot.

When you ask me stupid questions about why I feel the need to use as much weight as I do in an exercise, you're an idiot.
When you obviously have no game plan and the exercise groupings in your "workout" defy logic, you're an idiot.
When I'm doing an 800#+ OH leg press, and you feel the need to ask me when I'm going to be done with "all of those plates"...and then proceed to use 2 of them after I re-rack them (and if you had only turned around and walked 10' to the tree near the hack machine you wouldn't have had to wait that long)...you are the KING of the idiots.

There was a girl doing some sort of leg exercise today, in a full overcoat with hood up - that looked a bit... strange.
Cut done with - basically unsuccessful first bulk as I did put on a lot of fat to go with the little muscle I added. I know what I did wrong first time round and won't be repeating it. Looking forwards to being able to eat a few hundred more calories!! At least I know I can cut fat efficiently: went from 143lbs to 120lbs and from 35in to 29in waist.

When you put 350lbs on the bench, look at it for a while and then decide not to lift it and put all the plates back.

The "10 pound windmill".
A guy in my gym, mid 40's, shaved head, Headband, basketball jersey, gloves, paunchy mid section, no calves, no arms, loves the smith machine. He warms up by shadow boxing, and then taking a 10lb plate in hand and swinging it in circles, nearly tearing his shoulder out of socket. Starts slow and speeds up to the point where he's going to softball pitch it across the room. The Iron will never Lie to you.

Willpower is a muscle, and as such, it must be exercised. Heavily and Often.

got a few of those guys in my gym. They usually hang out near the dumbbell rack. Every now and then one of them will break from the herd and wander over near the power rack. Occasionally, they'll throw the tampon on a barbell, put a couple 10s on each end, and do something that resembles a half-assed good morning.

When someone slaps 30kg of weight on a dipping belt. Decides to do 3-5 pull-ups with TERRIBLE range of motion. Thats a gym idiot... better off taking off the weight and doing 10 reps properly.
The fastest full body routine:
Deadlift 5x5 - 315
Squat 5x5 - 286
Dips 5x5 - BW + 100
Pull ups 5x5 - BW + 77
Goal:
To double the above:

You're a gym idiot if you are a fatty that repeatedly comes in and works out doing the OPPOSITE of what all the jacked/fit people are doing. Example- I'll be doing my lunges/squats etc and time after time right next to me the fatties go for the hip abductor gay thingie machines where NOONE in shape even goes NEAR. Wouldn't common sense dictate to do what hot peeps are doing in you wish to LOOK better and less fat? If you do not get that, that makes you a GYM IDIOT.

I've not thought of the adduction/abduction machine as being gay. I know and understand the advantage of having strong adductors/abductors. You can strengthen them doing lunges, but when you want to isolate them that machine is one of the best ways--to me it's no different than doing curls or tricep extensions or leg extensions or leg curls or standing calf raises on a machine--those are all isolation exercises. Try doing either adduction or abduction with 150-200 pounds on the machine sometime....it's not easy. Geez.......

i usually dont get upset at the ladies in the gym cause they never get in the way but today i was limping toward the leg extension and some lady saw me and ran over to it, i thought "damn it!" so i went to do leg curls and waited patiently, after about 10 min of her towel just sitting there while she talked to a friend i walked over took the towel off and put it on the top of the machine. she walks back over with a very angry look on here face and says " i was using that!!" so i just smirked and kept working out.. so was I the GYM idiot today or was she??

When you see someone smaller than you lifting more weight than you and you immediately rack the weights quickly and flee the area, you're a gym idiot. Can't tell you how many times I have seen this happen.
If you laugh and talk **** on someone thinking they wouldn't even remotely be able to get into starting position with a big weight, but that person ends up repping that weight with no spotter, you're a gym idiot. I absolutely hate people who do this.
Moral of the story: Don't underestimate the strength of a smaller person.Last edited by klee0192; 05-31-2013 at 11:13 AM.

Totally agreed- I'm there to work out, not check my iPhone every 2 minutes between sets.
If you're not at the machine, or near it, bad luck- I'm using it, I don't care if your kitchen sink and dirty dishes are on it- I'm moving it and using it- that's what it's there for!People asking questions lost in confusion, Well I tell them there's no problem,

My cousin is a gym idiot. He'll go twice a week and use ab machines then run on the treadmill for 15 minutes. He also won't curl anything over 25lbs and won't bench anything over 100lbs because he doesn't want to be "buff" as he calls it.
