As long as you see good gains, you're doing it right.

Hahahaahaha love this thread!
1. You may be a gym idiot if you try to find the closest possible parking spot to the gym entrance. Isn't the whole point of going to the gym to get a workout in? The extra 13 calories burned to walk to the door will not hurt you. Unless it's squat day, then that walk might hurt
2. You may be a gym idiot if you would rather stick the barrel of a gun in your mouth and pull the trigger than get on the treadmill/elliptical for the 93475th time for a cardio session. Mix things up with walking a frolfing course, swimming laps in the pool, bicycling, rollerblading, etc. It does wonders for the chubby tummy and is fun at the same time!
3. You may be a gym idiot if you carry your phone into the gym with you other than for emergency calls, recording workout data, and Pandora radio/other tunes that jack you up and turn you into an animal during your workout. Personal improvement time is important, people can wait.
4. You may be a gym idiot if your ego is bigger than your muscles. If your form is compromised by trying to lift outside of your means, lower the weight. You will make gains much faster with a lower weight and good form.
5. You may be a gym ******* if you walk around the locker room needlessly naked. I don't want to accidentally get a glimpse of your hairy peashooter ever ever ever ever ever ever ever. Ever!
6. You may be a gym idiot if you have been lifting for awhile and your form still sucks. Youtube is an amazing tool and has 'howtos' on basically everything. Watch. Learn. Apply.

There's a husband and wife that come to my gym and usually see them doing some weird ass training program I just don't get, and today they took up the only 2 squat racks to do curls at the same time! Typical arrogant South African he is and he was abused half way through his set by some guys wanting to do squats. He tried to argue with them but got shut down pretty quick when they all pointed out the 2 stands for curls that on one were using.

I get the husband/wife team in my gym also. I get it, you want to workout with your SO, that's cool.
Just don't take up the only 2 squat racks in the building to move a whopping 190lbs combined.
If you've both got 95lbs to move, you can do it in the same rack.
What kills me is despite taking up both racks, they still alternate so they can check each others form or lack thereof. 1/4 squats of peace. On the road to 1250
Train consistently, move iron with purpose, eat well, sleep well and achieve.

Not certain if this guy was an idiot, or if I'm just ignorant to these exercises.
Exercise A: He had a 30lb ez-curl bar that he would upright row, then push his arms out so that they were parallel to the ground, then swing them down in an arc until the bar was resting on his thighs.
Exercise B: Same 30lb ez-curl bar. Overhead press, then one arm at a time, drop his elbow to his hips while doing a half side bend.
Exercise C: Again, 30lb ez-curl bar. Alternating sides, he would grab the bar with a mixed grip, and basically did a motion like he was shoveling dirt from one pile to another.
Again, these may very well be legit exercises with useful applications, but they sure looked odd.Last Meet:

Had another good one yesterday.
This tool was in the gym in the classic Ed Hardy shirt, jeans and dressier shoes (they had shine). In the hour I was there, all he did was walk from one room to the other. He'd be sitting on a Hammer Strength machine, get up, walk to the far room and into the squat rack. He'd look at himself, do one of those arm cross stretches where you throw your arms across your chest and then walk back out to sit on the hammer strength machine again. Through all this, he'd never break eye contact with himself in the mirror.
He would do this every few minutes, over the course of 10 minutes worth of good mornings, this tool had to blow through about 7 times.
Through the "no walk-throughs" sign and everything.
When I was leaving, he was arguing with management about having to pay membership fees.
I wanted to drop something on him.On the road to 1250

Your a gym idiot if you get on the seated calf raise and do a movement I can only describe as a seated row. This guy does this every time I see him on that seated calf raise. Take some plates off bro, the last time I saw legs like that they were hanging out a nest. I even pointed out to him that that was a calf machine and that the seated row machine was over two isles. I told him his back shouldn't be involved in the motion, he still does it his way, and wonders why he has stick legs and pencil calves!! LOL

If you speed across the gym parking lot in your ugly mustang and park in the closest spot then rev it multiple times, you're a gym idiot.

You're a gym idiot if ...:
-The weather outside is great, but you drive to your gym just to walk for 20 minutes on the threadmill.
-You take your girlfriend/chick friend to the gym and make her train biceps, back and chest instead of getting her to squat or do lunges ('the' exercises for dat ass).
-You take your n00b friends to the gym and make them do isolation exercises instead of compound exercises.
-You bench using the Smith machine (semisrs)
-You use a bunch of dumbells at the same time
-You pretend doing lots of bicep curls will make your arms grow
-You go to the gym twice a week and then do all possible exercises half-assedly
-You go to the gym to talk with people on the phone or to send text messages
-You are not a miscer.

Saw a guy pick up about an 80lb ez-curl bar.. he used it for shrugs. However, instead of the bar being in front of his body, resting around the lower stomach as he pulls up with his traps, he held it behind his back, resting on the lower back if you know what I mean (Pretty much, imagine doing shrugs while holding the bar behind you, instead of in front). Fair enough, i've done this before - gives your traps a different range of motion.
Anyways, the very first shrug he did, with the weight being behind his body and all, this dude leaned backwards so far, fell, and landed in the rack holding all the ez-curl bars, causing half to fall on him and the other half to roll around the floor towards other lifters.
Needless to say, tears of laughter came out of my eyes.. I would pay money to go back a few hours and video this. Lmao.
P.S - I asked him if he was ok and all.. but after that, come on. Who couldn't laugh*Disregard everything acquire perfect aesthetics*

I got 2 for you;
1) The guys you don't see at all at the gym except for Mondays after a long weekend of drinking and to get their bench on and Fridays so they can get their pump before going out.
2) The super skinny guy and his fat friend that maybe come once or twice a week hardly do anything at all but see other guys that bust their butts wearing tank tops so they decide its ok to wear skin tight tank tops and flex in the mirror to take pictures.

My favorites are the guys who bench 155-175 but only go halfway down to touching their chest... If they actually went down all the way that 155-175 would quickly drop to 125-145.
