Doing a circuit hogging like 4 pieces of equipment.
Me: "Hey mate are you using this?"
Idiot: "Yeah sorry bro"
*Goes to squat rack*
Idiot: "Sorry Im using that too"
Me: "hmmm. Okay"
*Goes to legg press instead*
And low and behold the idiot comes running over "sorry was just about to use that too".
Nah f-off. How can you hog all this equipment. Do your sets on once piece then move on. I should have just ignored him and carried on with my workout.

Alright, I finished reading all 246 pages of this just to make sure I dont qualify as a gym idiot. Thank God, at this point, I think i am in the clear. I have noticed a common theme though, it would appear to me that the overwhelming majority of people who are making fun of others need to spend more time lifting and less time watching. I mean if you are over 6' and weigh less than 200 lbs., you probably shouldn't open your mouth too much. Just my humble opinion though.
Thanks for the read!

Bro that walks into the iron room holding hands with his girlfriend. You serious bruh?
I'm in love with this girl that overhead squats with 95lbs. Granted her glutes are coming in nice.

The first time I deadlifted 315 I got a huge grin, started jumping like a bunny, and took a giant dump on the DL platform.

I rarely use machines but when I do its usually part of a superset. Nothing pisses me off more than when a jerk sits there for like 2 mins. like its a damn lawn chair. You want a beer bro? How bout a magazine? Get the fck off!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take your purple water bottle with you too.

Trainer at my gym told me that on a cut or a bulk I should ALWAYS eat at least 6 meal + a shake after every meal (yes 6 in total). Also told me that after a month I would look like a beast.
Does he qualify?☆ ☆ QUEBEC CREW ☆ ☆

I have been a week ago in Turkey, and went to the gym. I asked trainer (he is the winner of 2010 Europe championship of blah blah blah) about losing fat and how to make abs, he told me never eat fat, fat makes u fat and do 1500 crunches every day. I said wtf? r u fking kiddin me? I have lost a lot of weight with eating mainly fat. But he was so serious, my next question was about creatine, his answer was same like this sh%t. No matter what creatine u take, use only 15 days, then 21 day break, but i said, what if label says smtg different? said, fck it. IS HE IDIOT OR GYM IDIOT? lol

I'm standing by a cable pulldown machine with a rope attachement after finishing a set, clearly still using it. Without asking me, a guy comes by and unclips it when there is 2 more rope attachements on other machines not in use.

My gym has 2 weight belts, and one went missing, so I find the guy with the belt and find out he has 5 sets left each (dips and pullup) and basically I can't work in with him. I move onto my next exercise, when I finish that I get up and see who he's given it to. Nobody. He's not even used it yet, so I just do pullups without it next to him, he still isn't using it and seems completely unfazed that i want to use it. When he finally starts using it on his 4th sets, he puts on a ****ing 10lb weight and does 2 reps. I was ready to murder at this point.
Moral of the story:: Get my own weight belt, ****.

i ask a guy to spot me for 145 lb closed grip ez bar presses. he says "ok if i can..." i thought he was joking: when he lifted the bar up to me, he stopped right above the top of my head where i couldn't stabilize the weight, and i asked him to bring it over my chest. he brought it barely over my head, and then dropped the bar on my teeth. luckily they only scraped my lower lip, i just have a few cuts right now.... could've knocked my teeth out though.
as soon as it happened, he pulled it up and i told him to get it off. he asked if i was ok and said he was sorry, i sat up and didn't say anything and got some water and a paper towel for the bleeding. i walked back and started to do another set without a spotter, and he straight up left the gym... he had arrived only like 5 minutes prior to this happening hahahahaha

I know how you feel, this morning I'm at the gym doing military presses, when I go and get a drink of water this female PT (who was nearby to notice I was returning) took the weights off and began assisting her client by showing her dl form. She has been in the area long enough to notice me going to the fountain for a drink. She wasn't even using the equipment when I approached, she was just standing around talking to the lady regarding how acting like a bitch to people will shave off 20 pounds. I had even left a workout glove on the bar to indicate I would be returning and in the nicest way possible I asked her if she wouldnt mind me finishing my set. (So nice short of baking her strawberry flavored cupcakes and skipping and singing with her through Mr. Roger's neighborhood). She looked at me like I was ****ing stupid. Her mouth pursed, and curled, and her tone was anything but pleasant.
"Uhm you know what?"
The sweet Angel princess said.
I noticed her mouth go sideways and paused. I was in for a verbal thrashing I could feel it, so I remained silent and simply gave her a cold glaring stare. She was obviously upset about something, and fearing prison time I stopped her and politely excused myself. I never talk to this lady, I always make it a habit to rack up the weights when I am finished, as I see the underpayed PT's have to struggle to do this sort of work. But for the life of me I can't understand how these PT's can be so rude towards their clients. Everytime I pass by this lady she doesnt realize I can see her looking at me in the mirror and gossiping about me like some little girl during high school recess. Is this sexual tension? Should I ask her out? It's not like I go to the gym curling in the squat rack or wearing baggy pants that show cotton breifs with tracks. As soon as I can build my power/squat rack I am throwing away my gym membership. I love going to the gym to workout like a comic book vigilante, I hate coming out fighting the desire to hurt someone and buy a 24 oz can of Earthquake to forget about it. But hey it beats working out in prison thats for sure. I don't usually like to confront people over silly matters like this because I usually end up cussing them out. Fear of confrontation I guess.Last edited by GhostAvenger620; 09-09-2011 at 05:58 PM.

I'm probably too much of a noob to call anyone a gym idiot, but I did get a little pissed today anyway.
I come into the gym to do my little noob workout. I usually start with squats. Usually I have zero speedbumps in my workout because my gym is never crowded. But today, there's a guy in the squat rack, maybe mid 40s. No problem, I'll come back later. Halfway through my workout (maybe 40 mins in) I look over at the squat rack. The guy is still there. He's resting so I go over to ask him how many sets he's got left. On the way I notice he's using a ****load of weight. Good for him. I ask how many sets, his reply is "just going till I can't anymore dude" and he tells me there are already 2 other people waiting for the rack (god knows how long he was there before I arrived).
Now I'm interested, so I excuse myself and go back to my own workout but I'm keeping an eye on this guy now. I'm not one to watch and criticize others in the gym at all, but this guy's squat form is pretty bad and he is chilling for like 5+ minutes between sets, walking with this weird ass bounce step type thing around the gym and talking to people, trying to be a badass, etc.
Now that I'm paying attention, I can hear that the subject of his conversations between sets is how his back is always killing him and how it only feels better when he's lifting heavy. Maybe his back wouldn't be screwed up if he had better squat form and didn't do 70 sets. Anyway I finish my entire workout and this guy is still in the rack. By this time, his form has gotten horrible and he's literally screaming at the end of every rep. I figure he's either going to stop soon or he'll just keel over right there in the rack, so I throw in a few abs exercises for 15 or 20 minutes and, of course, this guy is still squatting, with 3 or however the hell many people waiting. I think that qualifies as a gym idiot.

[QUOTE=devl;2049947]If any of the following applys to you, you are officially a gym idiot.
6. If you train, lets say chest on monday and triceps on tuesday, you are officially a gym idiot.
i disagree, i do train tricep on tuesday sometimes and iv noticed that i still lift just as much as i would of even if i left a full day in between. training on the same day would make u an idiot in my books.
