Guy was curling dumbbells in the squat rack....wtf, they were 20's. How does a squat rack help with DB's? We have 2 racks, so it didn't bother me one bit. The gym wasn't packed, plenty of mirror space. I was confused.

I used to be so devoted to not being a gym idiot that my training schedule was as follows:
-back
-legs
-back
-legs, etc...
that was... until I realized that I was just being a gym idiot.

Check out my youtube channel! Feel free to ask questions, and I'll make video responses as in depth and to my knowledge as I can. I don't spread bro science, my information will be similiar to Ian Mccarthy/Layne/Ogus/Eric helms in the sense that I will base my accusations of of science/studies. Also some personal experience, but I won't impose that onto you. But if you ask, I'll answer :)

People who needlessly slam/ drop weights are annoying. It's easy to tell who the people are that do it for attention to. I was at the gym a few weeks ago and some Affliction kids were doing clean and jerks. One did a single rep and set it on the safety bars of the rack. After he set it down, he picked it up, grunted, and SLAMMED it down. Useless and annoying....it was 95 lbs....

Also, the pack of 16 year olds that: take up space, pyramid buddy curls in the squat rack, curl RIGHT in front of the DB rack, and stand around slamming muscle milks like they are chugging natural lights on a friday night...

Interestingly, at my gym, most of the 16-20 year olds seem to be MORE serious than a lot of the adults. Granted, I'll never see someone else my age doing squats or deadlifts, but when someone's being a gym idiot (curling in the squat rack, doing 1/10th of the range of motion on every single exercise, etc), they're almost always over 25.

One time--and it's happened 4 1/2 years ago--, I have had one of the two guys, teenagers not surprisingly, tell me I should take steroids after I did a set of ez bar curls, with 25 pounds on each side for 10 reps, I believe. I didn't even say a word, so I ignored this guy's so-called advice. Even though I wasn't as wise with alot of things involved with fitness as I am now, I always knew steroids is NO bueno. Anyone who recommends taking steroids is a total gym idiot, when they're in the gym offering that so-called advice, that is lol
Freaky size means nothing if you aren't freaky shredded. So eat clean, train hard yet smart, and use dietary supplements for faster results.

Somebody telling me that I shouldn't go down too far when squatting, instead I should go "just before halfway down"... Sigh!
Saying what I believe regardless

I don't care how sunny it is outside, if you wear sunglasses in a gym, you are a gym idiot.

This may have been brought up before, but... You're a gym idiot if you talk to someone while he's in the middle of the set.
Freaky size means nothing if you aren't freaky shredded. So eat clean, train hard yet smart, and use dietary supplements for faster results.

Saw a couple today
1st guy I saw curling when I got there. He was probably 30+ years old. Had some amount of muscle mass and was pretty fat. I didn't pay attention to him the whole time but he was curling when I got there and curling with some other guy when I was leaving an hour later...strong bicep day.
2nd guy is huge and an obvious roid user. He's white and wears a du rag in the gym. He looks like a pirate. He's doing chest flyes while I'm doing tricep pushdowns. I notice him looking over between his sets. Then he comes over to the cable machine right next to me and loads on a ton of weight, does a few reps of pushdowns, then walks away and continues to do flyes... Not sure if it was coincedence but it sure seemed like he was trying to show me up for no reason.
