I remember people here saying that by the time midterms came around people would forget about RvW. Turns out they were wrong.
Going forward if anyone threatens to take away abortion access, people will remember. Best thing Rs can do now is propose sensible limits on abortion rather than trying to ban it.747 Driver

They don't think about outcomes on this issue. There are posters here who believe all forms of birth control are wrong and immoral. There are some people that cannot be reasoned with on this issue... and I've learned to accept that. Having said that, the majority of voters believe there should be some protection around abortion. And with Roe v Wade overturned and Republicans suggesting restrictions with no protections this will continue to be a losing issue for them.

Some are some aren't... and that's why women are concerned about the slippery slope. Because a lot of this depends on each politician's own personal morals... and everyone's are different. And if you're only providing steps to restrict abortion and nothing to protect it, then you keep this an important issue.
Originally they were just going to overturn Roe v Wade to kick it back to the states. Now they've proposed legislation so the federal government can come in and prosecute on abortion... and they don't think women are concerned about a slippery slope? This will continue to be a problem for Republicans because there will continue to be fighting on both sides to both limit and protect abortion... until that gets settled this will continue to have some impact.YOU ARE NOT A SLAVE

Only 7 countries in the entire world allow abortions past 20 weeks.
We have colleges in court for harvesting aborted fetuses still alive and scalping them and sewing it into rats to see if we can grow hair.
We have doctors testifying the only way to remove late term fetus organs for certain procedures is while the heart is still beating.
We have people being told you can abort up to a week post birth with certain health issues.
Black market fetus price peaks right around then. 100k more versus a few weeks prior.
It’s not a debate about “abortion rights” or “personal rights”. The slippery slope with abortion has gone just as far as the one with gay marriage and now tranny groomers. You are a sick fuk if you don’t realize just how extreme science has been taking playing with fetuses and needing the abortion train to keep its supply up.

I agree with that. Unfortunately, providing protections for abortion will create some friction with some of their base. However, the Republicans are the ones who wanted Roe v Wade overturned, so now they have to deal with the fallout.
But I agree that unless they can meet in the middle on balancing out both restrictions and protection this will just continue to be a losing issue for them.YOU ARE NOT A SLAVE

1% of all abortions happen past 20 weeks in the USA... and almost all of those are to save the life of the mother or because the baby cannot survive outside the womb. Nobody will care if abortions are banned past 20 weeks because nobody really gets them past 20 weeks... the problem is the Republicans are only providing the bans and not providing protections. If you're only going to restrict it without protecting it, it will still remain a losing issue.
