I enjoy going out to bars and going out but i think i am slow it down and not go out as much anymore. maybe twice a month.
Been looking at my Credit card statements and its mind blowing how expensive bars have become.
Looking at the year summary have spent almost 20k on bars and restuarants on the year so far srs. Which is absolutely unacceptable and could have put that in an investment fund or real estate. It def super fun and made lots of memories but idk feel spending too much.
wtf.
I think will just chill at home from now on.

I recently toned it down in a big way.
I noticed that not only had prices gone up, but also some bars that hooked me up with deals(for being a regular) in the past stopped hooking me up. So for example a Mexican place that used to give me great $5 Margaritas started charging me $11 for those same drinks and food went up from $15 for tacos to $19. I used to get out of the place for $30-35 with tip, and this year I was spending like $80-100 every single time I went(even like a random Wednesday). Also, the cheapest shot of Tequila they have is like $9 right now, and I told them they need to get a cheaper option.
Overall vibes in bars are pretty bad right now as well, as people seem lowkey miserable. So not only do I end up spending $100-150 every time going out, but also don't get the same social benefits. If I'm going out now, I just go hang out at my buddy's place and get a couple bags of pepsi and chill, as that's been a more fun time.

I feel like its about the same tbh. If anything, its on par with inflation. Not like the 200% increase on eggs and beef.
Still finding places for like $5-6/beer or all-day specials. If you go out to nice places, $15-18/cocktail is about normal. I don't think that has changed too much.
Fiancee and I had a nice datenight last week at a really good spot and after splitting a Tomahawk, couple apps, cocktails, etc, it was about $220 after tip. Thats about par for a nice place.RIP Based Kevin Samuels

What do you gain from this?
Is this a business expense - are you in sales and you are required to entertain clients and develop relationships?
If this is just personal spending, and you are getting no business benefit / long term financial benefit, you are a total muppet and watch too many rap videos and spend too much time on social media. Only people WITHOUT money do this chit *or* the doing people it are being PAID by the club to promote it to the stupid masses.

Agreed bar vibes these days are different not as fun as it use to be. Theres a local bar that has 5 dollar drinks and thats only place I am going to go from now on.
very stupid on my end srs no benefit at all not a tax write off either just short-term pleasure and entertainment and most of the time I just go home and jerk off.
But hey at least I am starting to realize it now as I audit my spendings past year. Glad I am catching on now in my 20s.

Havent noticed seeing as I never go to them.
Not my thing. Waste of money."To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. okay so 2x a week so 208 is the average you spend per night for food/drinks
that is STILL you being a fukking moron or full of chit or bad at math
an average of $208 per night means some nights are probably 400 some may be 50, I dont think I EVER spend more than 100 going out for me AND my wife.

What gen is over represented in the service industry?
What gen has zero fuking sense of customer service?
I'm a 90's kid, but I remember when it was standard to be greeted with a smile and positive attitude anywhere you went to spend money at. Now it's like they're doing you a favor while charging you an arm or a leg for an inferior product/ service.300 Forever
