I tried discord and I think you have to have ADD to like it. I have slowed down on buying equipment but maybe I'll start making a thread here every few days just to keep things going.

I generally can't stand the format and general BS in the more modern social media options. Are there any good ones?

Discord is near impossible to keep up with. I won't check it for a little while and then there are 300+ comments on barbells. Doesn't seem like a good way to make information available but I was able to get some questions answered pretty quickly so I guess there's that.

Social media is so unorganized. You don't get the long term discussion and updates that you do in a traditional forum like this.

But other forums are still active. The problem with this one is that it's become nearly unusable. Can't post pictures, search is terrible, archaic rules. This used to be the place to go for nearly everything lifting related. Most of the people still here are very knowledgeable and experienced, but it's just not what it used to be. The best and most sustainable forums aren't commercial because there's no profit in it. It doesn't make business sense to invest a lot into it, and it's clear that bodybuilding.com doesn't care to anymore.
