Yes actually. I had taken the one close up shot to remember the gooeymaxxing nature of it. Was seriously extremely good. Nothing like fresh tomato off the vine with some basil out of my herb garden tossed right in the oven.
Ate it as I would a female fart factory. Furiously.

mozarella + tomato + crust is so amazingly hung. Best slice in midtown NYC is definitely the mozarella tomato at Joe's.
But that new haven style or thicker crust does well with a variety of toppings. The best at my local New Haven(Renato's) style joint in Jersey is actually a baked potato pizza. I thought my wife was crazy for ordering it, but it was so hung.
My favorite slice in NYC or Jersey though is a simple John's of Bleecker Pepperoni. The crust is slightly thicker than a typical NYC slice, but in the right way.
The best pizza I've ever had though was a fig and gorgonzola at Bono Trattoria in Hamilton Heights during the pandemic. Only did it as a special though. NYC does pizza like Texas does BBQ.

I like chicken or hamburger on pizza but am ambivalent when it comes to salted processed deli meat type things. My go-to is a garden-veggie loaded pizza with extra grilled chicken on it.

this is the truth:
crappy crust requires more toppings to hide the fact the crust is crappy.
a good proper crust only needs tomato and basil

If all you want to eat is cheese and bread just make a grilled cheese sandwich and dip it in a tomato bisque
I don't understand how you can "not" like meat on pizza. Do you even like meat op?
I've had it at an authentic place in Little Italy here in San Diego. The owners didn't even speak English and the menu was entirely in Italian. It was about $50 for a 10" pie. The ingredients were certainly fresh,
but it was nothing amazing, I wouldnt go back there unless I was bringing a date since the venue was pretty fancy. Italians may have invented pizza but we perfected it, and I dont mean that crap from our chain restaurants.Last edited by Maestro; 10-03-2022 at 04:23 PM.

Pizza is about chewy crunchy dough, sauce with savory spices, and some kind of cheese that is tangy and tasty.
If toppings do not enhance all of that and instead overwhelm it, then it's not pizza.
Too many toppings cause the dough to get wet and barely support the slice, so it's just a messy jumble of flavors.If you want to ask me a question:

Cheese on bread is nothing if the bread is dull and the cheese has no flavor.
However, if the bread is crispy and chewy that is good and if the cheese has a delicious flavor, then that is good.
So, you should not want to ruin the flavor of the bread and delicious cheese combo that is hot out of oven.
You need toppings on low quality pizza because the bread is not properly made and the cheese is from some factory and is bland.
In addition, a real pizza doesn't cost 50 bucks.If you want to ask me a question:
