This Is Exactly What It was Like:
"You can save a video on the HARDDRIVE and play it back" (sneers in skepticism)

I remember playing number cruncher as they were burgeoning
I remember fantasizing about the future
I remember going to circuit city as a kid to look at all the pc's
Portable chit became a fad. I had a portable ps1
Portable DVD players
Then laptops
Then laptops and cell phones took over pc's
I think the biggest problem is powerful people took advantage of this tech, and data and things of that ilk essentially became like oil - foundational and catalyzing society
It's the fact that they push media and chit of that ilk so hard because views = money. Anything to proliferate their product/ views because again that makes them more money. Your personal info and daily habits are like Crack cause they can figure out how to sell to you. Not even that, they can, FORCE you a sell
They can make it so you only use y with x's permission. Amazon and Netflix want you streaming because owning disengages their platform. They want you to own nothing because that forces you to come to them

The Sharp X68000 and the Neo Geo AES were were both like 5 to 10 years more advanced than any other computer or video game console at the time.
The Sharp X680000 came out in 1987 and the Neo Geo AES came out in 1990. Many of the games came out later obviously.
Literally Arcade quality at home when such a thing was unthinkable to mere mortals. They were both EXPENSIVE AF and so were the games. You'd literally be a king in your elementary, middle, or high school if you had one and had a bunch of games. You could literally probably charge people to come to your house and play video games.White 18-24 year old fit virgins with no tattoos and no debt=GOAT Women.
