I have never had sleeping issues until some hit out of the blue 2 weeks ago. I slept for 2 nights in 6 days, just laying in bed bolt awake the whole time.
Dollars to donuts, I would guess I am missing out on some nutrients while on a cut diet. But I don't know that for sure.
The two things that helped me are
1. Melatonin pills
2. ZERO external light.
I've been sleeping in my walk-in closet to get complete darkness at night. Sounds weird, but it's been working.

woke up at 3am with a need to watch videos of how to paint with pastels.
I dont own pastels nor have any plans to. Just needed to know for some reason."To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

You don’t need 4mg or 6mg of melatonin as others have mentioned above. 1mg is plenty - personally, I do 0.5mg myself and it helps me drift into sleep nicely. I don’t do it always, just nights that I expect to have bad sleep; eg, pwo after work or late night drinks. Look at the labels srs, lots of the chit you see at target/Walmart are trash. Find pills that only include the 1 ingredient. Brand I use is a generic German OTC.
The above post is a 100% complete lie
