Been looking for this thread. Been buying and selling guns lately. I think I’ve decided I’m just a sig person. Finally picked up a p365 for cc. Need to try out one of their 1911s.

Looks really nice. I personally dislike holsters with a mag holder. Puts the magazine in the worst place for me since I carry at 4 o'clock iwb. Curious why you like it.
Also, if you want a super comfortable holster, Blackarch Proteus is far and away my favorite, and sadly, I've tried many. Got my first IWB in 2001 after chatting for an hour with Lou Alessi about life and business and WTC. He made me in a work of art that I wish I still had but only the Proteus is close to forgettable. Nothing is truly forgettable at 4o'clock once you sit down.Could you define ______ for me, please?

**** yeah, that sounds awesome. I guess I've technically been to Asian when I was in Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan but I don't really think those count lol. I definitely want to visit Asian, for sure Japan and South Korea. I don't have a huge interest in SE Asia, at least compared to other regions of the world I'd want to use travel time for.
Did you get **** for your tattoos in Japan? I've heard that can be a big problem over there.
I have a lot more of Europe I want to see, not sure when an Asian trip would happen but it's on the list for sure.
I need to get the rest of my **** out here, but I'm not too worried since I rarely shoot x39 and .22.
I'd like to get into reloading, I'm just not sure if it's worth it when the vast majority of what I shoot is 5.56 and 9mm.
Entirely depends on what the purpose for the range trip is. This weekend, for example, I'll be focused primarily on recording real DOPE for my two ARs (actually walking the distances and recording the hits, not just plugging info into a BC). After that, I'll do a course of a stress shoot that involves moving laterally to various barriers and engaging targets from 100-400m. I'd say I'll shoot around 150 rounds doing that.
Mog me, daddy.
Ammo is only going to get worse over the next year. We know what happens leading up to presidential elections. God forbid Biden wins again (remember that one of the people posting ITT voted for him) and ammo will go through the roof. It'll settle down in some time, but it never really gets lower than before. Use this year to start stocking up.Misc Firearms Crew

What's the verdict on this plate carrier? I've seen this company posted on FB forums a lot, and people have said good things about them.Misc Firearms Crew

Just made an order for 250 rds of .45, 600 of 9mm and 1050 rounds of .22LR. I'm too stubborn to buy 5.56 FMJ at 65 cpr. My PSA AR has the .22 cmmg kit, so at least I can practice AR fundamentals while being poor. I also plan to train with my dagger more, that thing is fun to shoot.

500 loaded, with enough primers for another 1.5k.
It's pretty weak. I need to buy a few thousand rounds. It makes sense (to me) to reload the stuff I plan to shoot at long range, but time wise it's tough to keep up if I'm shooting a lot. I don't need ammo that will hold sub moa for positional shooting.SAAVM CREW

Smoke grenades from TAGinn.
That 6k of range 5.56 I have is from a pallet of 15k rounds I bought years ago lol. Came across a sort of shady deal that was too good to pass up, wish I could find something like that again.
I mentioned the other day, but part of me thinks I should stay buying range 5.56 now as prices are “low”. It seems retarded to buy some while I have a decent amount already on hand, but I’m not sure how long this 6k will last and do I really want to pay more when the time comes? If Biden wins I see an increase occurring for some time after the election. Who knows.Misc Firearms Crew

The dude thinks the shipping cost doesn’t factor into the cost of the ammo.
BRB compartmentalizing only the pure round cost because I don’t want to acknowledge I still paid for shipping.
Good grief misc. Take the 5.56 off a pedestal already. If you’re going to pay a dollar a round, get a real gun.6'5 220

I also hate the word “match”. All these companies do is slap the word “match” on the ammo they’re making and jack up the price lol.
The obvious progression from 5.56 is to 300 blackout. I’m hand loading 220 gr subs for under a dollar each. Or if you want real long range effectiveness the obvious choice would be a DMR. Like 6.5 cm. BRB don’t need ear pro and still under a dollar.
My 300blk recipe:
Either sig or star line brass
Berrys 220gr spire tip
CFE BLK
cci 41
Wouldn’t suggest shooting beyond 200 yds. And it took my a while to find the right load for my SBR, but this round completely mogs the 5.56. The creedmoor will do the same thing at distance.
Edit: voila - took me 2 seconds to find https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1010621045Last edited by MarinoMike; 10-20-2023 at 01:20 PM.

Because it's not a common caliber or because there's something wrong with it?
Not trolling. I'll freely admit that I only stock up on 9mm and .22. I keep enough .38 to make keeping my J-frame reasonable. I did find a couple of hundred rounds of 5.56 last week from when Biden got elected. I know very little about the various calibers you guys discuss. I have a Banshee in 9mm that takes the same mags as my Glock, because that's common. It's so tacti-cool silly it looks like it belongs in a video game but I like it enough that I was considering getting another one in .300 blackout with a 10" barrel. Figured .300 would give me a single gun that might actually be useful at home with subsonic ammo, but that could also fire something more far more powerful than my 9mm Banshee in the unlikely case my family or I need a rifle for self defense.
So, what's wrong with 300 blackout?Could you define ______ for me, please?

Overly expensive 300 in subsonic isn't much different ballistically than .45 ACP and super sonic isn't terribly different than 5.56 or x39 for that matter. Price of practice ammo matters as much as anything, so does availability.
People have been using supersonic guns for self defense, home defense, LE, and mil for forever, you don't need a sub sonic basically pistol caliber gun for home defense, use the 9mm PCC or use a 5.56 carbine or a semi auto 12 gauge.
