I remember when I went to shoot my first AR build, I loaded 30 rounds into the magazine. I put it in my range bag separately, and went to the range. I went to go load it, and it wouldn't stay in the gun. I adjusted the mag release, inspected the mag and the gun back and forth for like 3 minutes. I brought it to one of the guys at the range desk, and he suggested to take a couple bullets out. Like magic I took two rounds out, and it locked into place when I put it in the receiver. I've been loading 28 rounds since lol.

Quantity of rounds per mag, particularly 30 round AR mags, will forever be a classic MFC battle and I will always die on top of the fully loaded hill.












































































But not because I ran out of ammo.

I have not used a single mag that wouldn't seat properly when fully loaded. From a wide range of issued aluminums, to issued Pmags, to personal Pmags, everything has always been loaded with 30 and I will continue that practice forever. 28 round mags for a combat load is half a mag less than a true combat load. That matters.

I’m 5 and don’t know wtf you are referring to. But this jogged my memory…was watching a Tuber and saw he had 2 mags together (1 in the receiver, 1 outside) with a heavy duty rubber band or something and after he emptied one mag he pulled it and shifted/inserted the other that was attached and kept ripping rounds. Not sure how I feel about that…but was quick as F transition. Literally could not transition to another mag quicker from your belt/vest etc.

My preference is PMAG Gen3 or Lancer L5 AWM opaque

That’s what I just picked up (lancer L5AWM). Was like $3/4 off per mag. Not bad. Got the smoked clear though. Already have 3 30/32rnd-ers in black opaque.

I only load 10 rounds. Much safer that way. Anymore turns it into an assault weapon. Only cops and military should have those.
