A favorite smell or two or three

One of mine has always been lighter fluid. I think it started when I was still in single digits filling up my grandpa's Zippo.

Ironically, I don't really mind the smell of gas either but I don't go around sniffing it, however if i get my hands on a Zippo, you can bet your bottom dollar I am going in for a sniff like Sleepy Joe on a woman.

Even my dog doesn't like my farts. Today I had boiled eggs, baked beans and moose garlic sausage, They are fun to cut loose in the grocery store, if someone walks into one of them you'll know it.

Smell of a cigar when I am not expecting it reminds me of my grandfather. (dont like the smell in general).

The smell of my wife. (srs) She has and has always been intoxicating by smell to me my entire life. No other women have had this effect on me. In fact other women would either be neutral or revolting. (talking about natural smells and not hair product or perfumes) Kind funny, but I sniff my wife at any opportunity

Some theories about pheromones and being able to smell genetic compatibility. Maybe that is it?

I hear you. Sometimes I'll hug my wife and I'll say "ahh..., you smell like you".

She loves the combination of horse manure and hay smell.

There's a "third-world" smell of heat and humidity and humanity and garbage and when I haven't been do a developing country in awhile and I step out of the airport and feel the heat and hear the noise and smell that smell, it makes me feel good all over. Was in Kenya and Costa Rica this summer and was disappointed to not have that experience. Both capitals are in the cool mountains.

Yep....love it.
Especially ceder.....makes you feel pretty bad azz splitting ceder with a maul after a hearty breakfast.
If I had a nickel for every cord of wood I've bucked, split and stacked I could have retired at 40.
Me and wood have a special connection.

(I could have said that "I love the smell of napalm in the morning" but it would be a lie )

My absolute favorite smell ^^^^ Mix that with apple cinnamon and I'm in heaven.

I also love the smell of freshly brewed coffee, but the taste isn't anything special IMO.

The GF makes this sour cream vanilla heavy pound cake that has an amazing scent.
Grandma's Chanel #5 perfume, no idea why.
Scents trigger memories for me, somehow they are closely connected.

We're always looking for a dead fall in the woods to buck up, split and get it nicely stacked at the home front before anyone else finds it.
When I was in the bay area they had lots of oak, pine AND non-native Euc in the Santa Cruz hills and on the Stanford campus.
Burns damn hot as a hard wood with all the oils, similar to manzanita.
Most of the ceder was at higher elevations.

No hijack intended....back to it.

(EDIT: Actually, having a 16" & 36" chain saw with me at all times, I would only buck it up on site, get the rounds in the truck and get hell out of Dodge. Stealth mode and efficiency was necessary to preserve ones' anonymity)

In my younger days I could easily pick out the women in the office who were menstruating by their smell.

I wasn't very popular with the women in the office. :-/
