I didn't know about Karen.
Marsha Linehan is the creator of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, which is mostly used for Borderline Personality Disorder. She created that in 1967. I just feel like it's been more known since 2000, most likely due to more information being available on the internet and more DBT practitioners getting licensed by her. My DBT therapist went up to get certified by Marsha in Washington. Other therapists try to use aspects of DBT, but it's not the same. I've taken a year of DBT groups and I've been in DBT for many years now. It's very helpful for my personal and professional life, especially in terms of how to deal with difficult people who would give me anxiety and depression.
MySpace was really popular and addictive, but it wasn't as easy to see on your smartphone until the later generations of iPhones. Then ******** became popular, but Instagram really hit the Millenials with being addictive and leading to attention whoring. ******** became mostly for old people but young women would get thousands of subscribers and complements on Instagram. With some people I feel like every social meeting has to be on posted on Instagram or Snapchat.

I have a theory disorders live in a side of the world separate from those who follow typical spiritual values, i.e., antisocial people. The solution or problem causing these disorders is a departure from proper value structures.
Connecting to good faith value systems is the only way one can socialize and stop living with whatever style of antisocial perversion they live with.

Personality disorders are typically created by people who hate their children and/or discarded them in some way.
So, right there you have a kid in an environment with no "spiritual structure" or any meaningful values. Parents who hate their children, see them as a burden, don't actually care about them, and so on will teach those values to the kid.
The person with the personality disorder is like a victim of brainwashing only since birth. So, their beliefs and values are wildly different than others of general public. If you want to ask me a question:

in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, which is mostly used with Borderline Personality Disorder, prayer is one skill we use for distress tolerance. There are many others as well. Mindfulness is at the core of DBT, which I’m constantly working on as my mind will race while simultaneously playing some random song.
