I noticed shorter guys tend to age better, he still looks jacked but its because he is 5'7. He is obviously on the sauce but still impressive that he never stopped working out that takes dedication you see a lot of actors fluctuate and only get on TRT when they got a role and train but then stop.
He was 70 here he is 76 today but dam he looked great and vascular

Whoever grew up in the 90s knew you had to pick a side when it came to action movie stars - Stallone or Schwarzenegger. I was a die hard Stallone fan.
There's just nothing like those movies anymore
Cliffhanger
The Specialist
Demolition Man
Daylight
Rocky
Rambo
Cobra
Assassins
Stop or my mom will shoot
hnnnnngggg all around

I'll match your Ivan Drago and Raise you a Thunderlips.
How can someone have this great an "Action Hero look" and still suck so much because of bad acting ability?
The guy literally looked like a cross between Arnold and Charles Bronson, but unfortunately you need more than "The Look" to be a great action hero.

Hogan just didn't spend any time trying to make movies. He was making too much money wrestling. I'm sure if he would have went to Hollywood and dedicated himself to movies he would have done well there too.
Andre the giant was offered a professional football contract, but wrestling was easier and payed a lot more.Motorcycle crew
Army veteran crew
One Meal a day crew

I was disappointed by Hogan's films-when he had to read rehearsed lines the charisma vanished. Let's face it, the films he was making didn't take much time to shoot-NHB he was off from April to June/July of 1988. Suburban Commando he was off from April to June/July of 1990 again. Mr Nanny he was off because of the drug scandals of 1992.
Lol at Andre-his legs would never have lasted doing that. He was never offered a contract-the Redskins offered him a tryout & he was making so much money in wrestling it would have taken years for them to match that offer, if he performed & didn't get injured. It wasn't like in 1975 that he had a baseball physique anyway like El Gigante did. Andre was slim in his early wrestling days in the 1960's-here he is in 1974.

I think you are being harsh
On topic I was a big fan of Sly and Arnold as a kid, but I prefered Arnold because I found T2/Total Recall/Predator/Running Man the most entertaining of all their films.
Also watching arnie films was one of the only times I bonded with my dad.
As I've got older I prefer sly now, deeper roles and kept making quality movies like rocky 6, rambo 4 and 5.
Arnie dropped off when he became the governator, in fact, you could argue he made nothing good after true lies in 1995
Sly had better legs on his career by FAR, going as far back as cop land.

i think you just have to check your expectations with these guys as they got later into their careers. to say arnold stopped being 'good' in '95 isn't fair IMO.
simpler action/revenge type films like Collateral Damage or later on The Last Stand. those were fun movies and arnold delivered in those. they weren't T2 but they weren't bad either. same with Stallone, of course he's not the megastar he was before but he was great in the 2008 Rambo, and Creed. both guys did pretty well hiding their weaknesses/age and highlighting their strengths later in their careers.
