Does building neck muscle make you harder to knock out?

Do muscular people, with strong neck muscles especially, have better knockout resistance than the average person does? I saw videos of Mike Tyson in his younger days doing neck exercises to make his neck thicker for that purpose.

    I believe it does.
It's not so cut and dry as there are other factors, but it definitely helps.

Somewhat, it gives a bit better shock absorbtion but it's not going to make worlds of difference, I'd argue strong legs are more important.

I believe it does but not by being so strong that it somehow absorbs the impact and holds your head still, that should worsen the impact. I thing it builds the muscle to allow a quicker reaction to activate the muscles to roll and absorb impact. Like if you had strong legs and I dropped a barbell on your back like a squat. The point isn’t that you’re so strong you lock your knees and eat it but you don’t collapse either. You absorb it as you squat down and decelerate.

Strong neck muscles keep the head more steady when subjected to blunt trauma lessening the likelihood of the brain hitting the hard walls of the skull. Brain to skull contact is thought to be a major cause of concussion.
