Legendary powerlifting coach and owner of Westside Barbell has passed away.
I read every book and article Louie ever wrote. I seriously felt like I knew him.
Here's a picture I took of my son and wife unknowingly sitting beside Louie at a powerlifting meet I competed in ten years ago.

i did westside training for a while and unfortunately made hardly any progress on it, felt like I was spinning wheels.-Engineering Crew

Rip Louie
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

RIP Louie Simmons. True fuking beast, true legend for lifting. Tried some Westside type training back in 2014-2016 and got stronger faster than any other types ive lifted. Didn't stick with it but it was amazing and was strong for that time and looked great all the time srs. But was always tired lmao

He did say that, and I think that may have been part of the reason Chuck V. left there all those years back.
But in recent years, a lot of the operational stuff seems to have been shared/taken over by a guy named Tom (I think he's Australian and I forget his last name).
I know he runs the MMA training there at the gym and he puts out a lot of the content along with Louie. And when I bought books/merchandise from their store in the past, his name was on the packing slip as the manager.
I'd say he's going to end up running it if it doesn't fade into obscurity (which would be an unbelievable shame).
