1st competition, 7 weeks out.
Woohoo, I'm so excited. My starting weight was 147 at 7% bodyfat, measured yesterday. April 28th is the day of the show, I'm hoping I can hit that crazy 4% or even 3% and blow everyone away with my conditioning and posing. If I can compete at around 140, I'll be happy.
So here goes!
I have a very fast metabolism, and my maintenance diet is about 3100-3200 cals per day, with no or very minimal cardio. I've dropped it to about 2800 cals and I'm doing cardio, HIIT on some days and low intensity on others (like leg days). I'm very confident that I can get into very good condition.
As for posing, I've been searching and watching videos of great posing routines, and I've put together what I feel is a good routine. I'll see if my camera has a movie mode and in a few weeks I'll try to youtube it or something.
AAAHhhh I'm so excited, my first show.
I was in a motorcycle wreck almost 7 months ago and lost part of my kneecap and dislocated my shoulder. I couldn't walk at all for a few days, then for about 2 months I hobbled around with a cane, carely able to walk. Now I squat heavy and deep! I got down to about 128 after my wreck. Doing this competition was my goal, sort of like rehabilitation. I'm really excited. I'll post pictures in a day or two, to show my starting condition.

Thanks! Although I underestimated my metabolism, apparently...
On Monday, I did only about 10 minutes of HIIT. I took it easy, because that afternoon was leg day. Tuesday I meant to do some cardio, but I just didn't really get the chance. Wednesday I did another 10 minutes of HIIT. I've been pretty good about my diet, as far as eating enough goes, or so i thought. I lost about 2.5 pounds in around 4 days. I haven't lost any size or strength, and my abs are a bit more defined, so I'm guessing it's nearly all fat, but woah! That's too quick! I'm going to cut out the HIIT to maybe just once per week, do low-intensity cardio a few days a week, and step up my calories back up to 3k. That should help me to lose more slowly.

- Eating clean won't make you lose fat if you still stuff yourself stupid-full at every meal.

What I suggest you focus on is your mandatory posing skills instead of your routine... a very common mistake for first timers. You may not even get a chance to perform your routine if you don't shine in prejudging. Even if you've got it and you don't know how to show it won't do you any good.

Maffie, I'm 5'6"
MM, very true. I've been working on the primary poses every night for a while now, and also on smooth transitions between them. I have what I feel is a good posing routine, I do need to practice it more though.
And I need a tan!
