Why did neo want to go to "the real world" srsly
Morpheos finessed neo to live in an underground hell to fight a battle for nothing
The agents just wanted people to live a normal life, what was wrong with it?

The main thematic idea behind The Matrix is "What is real?"
In Plato's Allegory of the Cave, the prisoners are trapped inside the cave. The prisoners see shadows of themselves outside of the cave.
Later, they realize the cave isn't real/ Their shadows are the real ones.
The Matrix is the cave. It's not real.
Agent Smith explains how Thomas Anderson goes through the same pattern every single day of his life.
It's until Trinity comes along and explains to him that there's a world outside of this cave.
Neo doesn't know waht's really outside of The Matrix. He just knows that the world he's currently living can't be real.
Him taking the pill is his way to find out.
Morpheus is a guide to show him what is actually real whether you like it or not.
The world that we live in is a lie.
As Morpheus says, "The Matrix is a system of control"
The 9-5 it's all to control us. We're prisoners of this world.
The point of Neo gaining super powers is more a metaphor of him being free from the rules of the world. He's no longer bound by the system.

Why would anyone want to live a lie, and wouldn't it bother you that you knew everything you touched/saw/felt/tasted wasn't actually real?
And joining the FFL isn't exactly an adventure, its getting yelled at by some old **** in a language you don't understand in a hot ass desert for a few months so that you can basically just be in the army.

the problem is do you think you could enjoy living in the fake world after knowing it was the fake world and everything you did was ultimately meaningless because you will just die inconsequentially in a tube.
It is kind of hard to ever take people serious again because they may just be NPC's and you are just playing a game basically 24/7 365.
You could teach whole philosophy classes based on the original matrix movies.**worthless college major crew**

Except the reality you are all in right now could be fake, you just dont know it yet. But as far as you can perceive, it's real and you have no problem living in it. That's why the concept of the movie is dumb. Neo was in a normal reality, just like ours. Maybe things weren't going his way and he didn't have the best or happiest life but it was still real. But some *******s who were in the actual chit world needed Neo so they came in and selfishly told him his reality was a lie so he could go fight for them. Now obviously if you're told your world isn't real that causes a problem but again for all your know your life right now that you think is real can actually be the matrix and you don't know it yet.
So here's the question. If you had no friends or family members and were living on your own with no life or responsibility and a genie grants you a wish to hook you up to a VR machine which will erase all memory of your former life and give you the life you always wanted. You'll live out the rest of your days with the dream life: wife, success and joy and you'll never know it was fake. Why in God's name would you not take the deal?▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

You know those movies were made about transsexualism through an analogy right? Knowing that, do any of the scenes need to make sense?

dude idk, how can you tell a mind bending bj is good if you never had a horrible one? I'm not saying life in the matrix has to be perfect, my point is if the VR world offered you a much better and accomplished life (with bad moments too which you overcame) and you would NEVER know you're in the matrix why would you not take the deal? By all logic if you spend time thinking about it, you MUST take it. You won't take it now because you know it's fake but remember once the VR world starts, that knowledge of it being fake is instantly deleted forever
See above. My point is, the VR world would maximize YOUR VERSION of happiness, especially if to you happiness means experiencing some bad but overcoming it. Whatever you deem as the best life, the VR would give you that. Therefore, you get to live a much more accomplished life than you could in the real world. AND once you're in the matrix you'll never know it's fake. Then there's no reason to not take the deal.
Another way to look at it is if I told you that tomorrow you'll be visited by an alien who will inform you that your current reality is fake, and he can transport you to the real world where you work underground as a slave in the worst conditions for the aliens. You know he's telling the truth and you'll have a miserable life and die at 40 from overworking but hey at least it's the real world. Would you want that alien to come and shatter your current reality or not?

The problem here is you are only thinking one move ahead. What if you pick to stay in false reality like I said but now knowing there is a actual reality and everything you are doing in the false reality is, false, it loses all meaning, when you have sex with a woman, its just a computer program so it may not even be any different than masturbating, you may never fall in love because you know its a computer program, you may achieve a very enjoyable wealth but as old age approaches it seems meaningless, you think about having kids but whats the point because the machines will just use your sperm to make children to live in their false reality and they wont be your actual kids.
Its kind of like do you want to spend your whole life with some hot bimbo who is fake and vapid AF but sex is good, or do you want to find a real genuine woman who you have tons of meaningful conversations with and a real connection and remain best friends for life and you love her 100%.**worthless college major crew**

What's weird is that it's an analogy of the simulation theory but i don't remember people talking about that or redpill until like 2014. And the movie has been out since 1999.
