My parents have lived their whole lives as high school teachers. I was fishing with my dad last weekend and he found a picture of my sister with a flag draped around her shoulders out of the country. He showed me the picture and asked me if that looks like a picture my sister would take. I clearly didn't see anything out of the usual, asked what about it? He pointed out the flag, and mentioned that only right wing extremists would take a picture with an American flag... All I could do was shake my head and say I don't understand the logic. I said, people in the USA have no idea how good they have it here. I didn't want to start an argument, it's pointless. Disappointing, I remember when my parents used to be fairly moderate. Can not believe how much leftist media has eroded their minds... It's hard.

Right. I have flags embroidered on my boots. I bought an AR-15 a while ago and he made the comment on that it is a right wing extremist gun... Even though he has semi auto, high capacity rifles in other calibers in his safe. I reminded him, it's just a semi auto gun like the guns he owns. I grew up with it. Was pretty liberal myself until I got out into the real world. Seems like you can go 2 ways. Double down on blaming the other side or realize that the entire establishment is corrupt and become die hard freedom. Became very libertarian and capitalistIc. As common people, freedom is really all we have. Life gets a lot better when you give up the victims mentality and realize your success solely depends on you.
