I thought more miscers would be into MMA but this subforum is pretty quiet most of the time. What gives? Do all you guys have alter ego's over on Sherdog forums or what lol

Most of the old guard has. Too many cards, too much push on wmma, and frankly, too much bullchit to watch cards now. ESPN+ is a failure, back in the days of Spike tv at least free cards were actually available for free. But these days those cards are so garbage its not worth watching them anyway, much less paying for yet another monthly service.

I think I get motivated to watch 1-2 fights a year now, and mostly just out of convenience, I never plan nights around cards anymore.

This subsection took a huge blow when it was hidden in the powerlifting forum due to trolls. Then by the time it was moved back the misc was already on a decline. All forums were on a decline around that time due to social media taking over. Nothing you can do about it.

Also, a lot of hardcore fans who used to discuss the sport have gotten kind of bored with it I think. The sport is still doing great numbers wise apparently but it’s carried by casuals not hardcore fans like back in the day when it was the inverse.

and apparently before that it was even more popping. fukn remember gainzzz and kingswrv and their hot takes lmao.


but honestly MMA has been good as its ever been. The lighter weight classes are better and more competitive. Kinda miss the guys like Rampage, Chael, Bisping and all the other old school guys that kept things exciting. Also I miss big pre-press conferences and a handful of fights being gathered for the post-fight instead of one by one just to hear the post-fight chit taking.
