    Reps upcoming Ares Cable System

Not sure how many of you have seen this, but this looks like one hell of a product IMO.

Quick video showing some features from an Youtuber (nothing official from Rep yet)

Some of you know I've been wanting to find a unit to use in a confined space, and if this meets expectations it could be awesome. My deadline to complete my home gym is Nov 2022 (when my membership runs out at gym). So I'm not in a rush. Front runner was the Prime HLP or Force USA G20. Prime experience sucked as some of you know, and I'm too hesitant on the G20 due to lack of actual reviews from reputable people + history of mediocre quality.

I'm guessing it will be a 2:1 pulley ratio, which will awesome for the functional trainer part. Having the dual high/low pulleys can essentially make it a 1:1 since you'll be using two weight stacks. Big selling point for me there. Cost is going to be 2-3K. Obviously seems steeps, but if you include the rack you'll likely spend 4000-4500 (plus Rep ships free) for a rack/lat pulldown-row/functional trainer.

Love the dual pulleys for rows/pulldowns as well. I've used lat towers/rows with those before and I'm a big fan of them. Another thing - it does not appear to add much height to the existing rack which. My ceiling are 95.5", so with a 93" rack there isn't much room to spare. This would solve that problem right away.

I am super excited about this setup, I am looking forward to seeing some reviews. A deal breaker could be if it ends up being a 4:1 ratio though. That likely won't be enough weight for pulldowns/rows even with the dual setup.

It's 2:1 ratio and the added height is 1.5" so with 93" uprights you should be good.

Just did an upper body workout on it yesterday with my brother and really happy with it. Definitely one going into my gym. Expecting our final production sample to be done later this month.

Thank you for this bro, this basically answered everything I had wondered. 250lbs with the optional 300lbs is a huge bonus for the 2:1 having the dual pulleys. You get the benefit of the 2:1 smoothness , but you can utilize both stacks for a true 250 or 300. This right here is a major selling point.

I am extremely pumped for this, I think 2500-3K is a very fair price considering it replaces a functional trainer and a lat pull/low row. Great value even with the power rack price included.

    Can't wait for this one.

Given reps history of having numerous “version 2.” I’d wait for version 2 on such a big purchase.

This is pretty cool looking. I like the fact that it's built onto a regular power rack as some of the HLP functionality impaired the actual rack uses (safety heights etc...). Not a huge deal but depends on how you weigh the tradeoffs and for me...rack is king and everything else is "nice to have".
