Media used to be made with higher budgets because they knew that DVD/VHS sales would be like a "second opening" after theaters

This allowed producers & directors to take risks with their comedy/horror what-have-you

Today your average chit-tier Cuckflix movie is made with $1mil-$10mil whereas in the past it would've had $50mil+



The only real exceptions are brands like Marvel because they know it sells to room-temperature IQ audiences(flashy lights & CGI!!)

But movies are terrible. I rarely watch any movie beyond 2010, mostly 90's.

Because it's the truth; the $20mil-$100mil budget range is gone thanks to streaming "originals" which are all woke dog chit

The worst part is people supporting streaming instead of disk don't realize that streaming is lower quality video & audio

Shows have been better than ever. there's more content online than you could imagine. Its hard to find it because of all of it now. Movies are still great but shows have improved. Better actors bigger budgets. more intricate story lines.


also Try Euro films and asian shows as well companys arent just putting the talent into english stuff now. its a global market.

I've been enjoying movies and TV shows for over half a century since I was a little kid but never noticed what OP is complaining about.

The 2010s are just another decade that has produced as many good movies/TV shows and bad ones as any other decade.
