Just got called a "bigot" for calling the Moon "the Moon"

The moon was shining tonight and I pointed and said "that's the Moon, you know" and this dude screamed at me and called me "a bigot" and said "no, that's Mercury, you bigot" and the s aid he was gonna find where I live and cancel me and make me lose my job!

Reminds me of when I referred to the starving little black boy with a swollen belly as "a starving little black boy with a swollen belly" and I was called "a bigot" and told off and told that "no! It's a pregnant woman!"

I was taught basic astronomy back in elementary and high school and the science seemed legitimate back then. Mercury is nowhere near Earth, right and the Moon is the closest body we can see which shines sometimes due to the reflection of light from the sun, right? This is all part of the common consensus, no?

So you can just imagine my shock when I was called...a bigot! A bigot?! I mean - even the Moon isn't pretending to be Mercury wtf! But I guess I'm the bad dude, right and starving little black boys are actually pregnant white women...

You just can´t even see Mercury at night. Its orbit is close to the Sun, so you just can spot it at dawn or at sunset.
