You're free to handle things how you want.. but the loss of an important family member (in my opinion) isn't supposed to be easy. I would rather cry it out, the last thing on my mind would be that I look "weak" for mourning. I don't mean any offense, just saying how I'd react in that situation.

But now this other miscer’s got me re-thinking things to where I was going to extreme lengths to avoid being seen as weak, to now realizing that in this type of situation it might have been the wrong move and that I should’ve just let it all out. I can’t refute any of that. It all makes sense, logically.

But as a side issue, don’t you just get repulsed by the sound of yourself crying? I absolutely hate it even if I’m completely by myself. It’s like when you hear your own voice on an audio/video recording and you go “Is that what the fuk I sound like?” I know I can always hear myself when I’m talking but the voice I hear does not match the one I hear on video. Crying feels exactly like that to me except it’s not just cringe, it’s sadness combined with that. The whole thing is just awful in every way.
