A police officer in Norfolk, Virginia was fired after anonymously donating $25 to a legal defense fund for Kyle Rittenhouse, who is on trial for shooting three people and killing two at a riot in Kenosha, Wisconsin last year.

The Guardian published hacked information from a Christian crowdfunding website called GiveSendGo to reveal donations from public officials to a variety of causes.

The donation in question contained a comment: "God bless. Thank you for your courage. Keep your head up. You’ve done nothing wrong... Every rank and file police officer supports you. Don’t be discouraged by actions of the political class of law enforcement leadership."
