In October, 25 out of every 100,000 residents of heavily Trump counties died from Covid, more than three times higher than the rate in heavily Biden counties (7.8 per 100,000). October was the fifth consecutive month that the percentage gap between the death rates in Trump counties and Biden counties widened.

Some conservative writers have tried to claim that the gap may stem from regional differences in weather or age, but those arguments fall apart under scrutiny. (If weather or age were a major reason, the pattern would have begun to appear last year.) The true explanation is straightforward: The vaccines are remarkably effective at preventing severe Covid, and almost 40 percent of Republican adults remain unvaccinated, compared with about 10 percent of Democratic adults.

For the elderly, the vaccine does seem to help outcomes. That shouldn't be controversial and I am not surprised by that number. I would however like to see a comparison of ALL deaths by county, and see if there is an uptick in certain cardiac events in the heavier vaccinated populations.

African Americans make up a much smaller percentage of Americans than whites. And AA vaccination rates have basically caught up to white vaccination rates. The unvaccinated people clogging up our ERs in various parts of the country are mostly overweight Trumpers with tribal tattoos.

Young whites are now a minority. Those stats weren't just for blacks but for all nonwhites, claiming they had higher fatality rates. And it's not like leftists aren't fat blobs - they are the party of body positivity - AKA can't even mention how obesity plays a big role in covid outcomes. Also, the ERs here are normal and it seems to be absolute bull**** the unvaccinated are clogging up anything.

Well both obviously. What you need to concentrate on when it comes to studies like this is how data is being interpreted. This study specifically states 100,000 people being the basis for their rate percentile. Due to the nature of that standard counties with higher populations will have considerably lower rates even if the actual number of people dying in the higher density counties is far greater. It's purely numbers manipulation.

The US is still 5:1 white to black. So black covid fatality rates would have to be five times higher than whites just to see a 1:1 ratio of blacks and whites dying in ERs. It is still mostly white Trumpers doing the dying.

While it is true that there are fat non Trumpers, they're far more likely to be vaccinated and protected from COVID than are fat Trumpers.

A cursory search of news articles shows that Idaho's Delta wave peaked a few weeks ago. Good for you guys! Ninety percent of the covid deaths and hospitalizations during the wave were still entirely preventable if more fat Trumpers had gotten vaccinated, though.
