Slade is cool. 16 years (not 17 I was wrong) as a Navy Seal, most of that with DEVGRU. Only out because he was medically retired from spending 16 years in the GWOT. Those guys are badasses.
I’m growing my beard out right now. Normally I keep it pretty trim because it has a tendency to look like a giant pube bush. It’s very curly. But actually looking good right now and I have an appt with my barber lady next week to groom it up so I’m going to keep growing it and see how long I can get it without looking like a homeless creep.

Today at the range, I was doing the same thing I’ve done dozens of times.
I was shooting strings of three with my AR.
I was well inside of my stall, and in between strings, I would pull the mag out, and the bolt would be back. Then I would let my rifle hang by the sling to the front, while I reloaded three more into the mag.
I would then face the rifle down range, slip the magazine in the mag well, and then let the bolt forward.
When finished, drop the magazine, leave the bolt back, let the rifle hang, and reload again.
Dude came in and said he knew there was no magazine in the rifle, he knew the bolt was back, he knew the rifle was empty, and he knew that I was well within my stall, but I couldn’t do that.
I was like, “OK”.
Not gonna lie…it kind of irritated me.

I got an email from Primary Arms that they will build custom uppers now. Got all excited.
But it has to start from a barreled upper receiver and they only have 3 options. All 16” gov barrels. So ghey. You only get to choose the handguard and muzzle device Lolol.
Weapon Outfitters has a cool custom upper builder and you choose every little part. But it’s limited to what’s in stock so it’s been pretty chitty all during Covid.

My indoor range is 24/7 and no RSO’s. Mag dumps for days. Members only so no poors / retards who don’t know what they’re doing. I always go random times during the week around lunch and I’m the only one there. Can draw from holster and all that good stuff.
Only bad thing is they have ammo FPS limit so no rifles. But that’s what the outdoor range is for.Browns/Indians/Cavs/Buckeyes

Yeah, he was so casual about it, no way he was sober. I saw tons of ANSF high on hash or opium react similarly to contact. You don't react like that if you're sober. Like the fatass that ran inside and peaked out a few times. When rounds popped off he took off.

This is why I love the outdoor range near me, no one ever seems to be there, I think at most I've seen one other person. No RSO, shoot any target that isn't glass so long as you clean up when you're done, and it's behind 2 gates that only members have the combo to, all for $35/year.

G19 laying on the bench outside of arms reach with the slide locked back and no magazine. I was loading the magazine during a cold range and got RSO'splained. Same range, some shooter had an mp5 with binary trigger a couple lanes down from me and the RSO asked to see his paperwork for a mAcHiNeGuN and was told to fuk off. I'm no longer a member there

That would irritate me.
I also do my static square range thing with a sling on, and do those stupid little side steps side to side within the stall sometimes. And I even sling it in front while administering things with it loaded safety on and super on top of muzzle direction and I can feel the RSO's eyes burning holes in me lol and I don't do that with people immediately adjacent, and that's been okay at a range that doesn't allow work from a holster.
I do flag the chamber everywhere besides the stall
And I'd understand if they came at me for that. But you with it fully obviously unloaded...kinda chicken sht

When the RSO came out and talked to me, I must have gotten that look on my face. I’ve been told multiple times over the years that I get a certain look that makes people nervous.
Anyway, when I checked out, he apologized profusely to me. He said that the security guy upstairs made him come out and talk to me. He couldn’t see on camera that my rifle was obviously empty.
Whatever. I’m a safe motherfukker with a weapon. If only that dude had any idea the shyt I’ve done with a locked and loaded rifle.

I typically just use that indoor range for marksmanship, and trigger control sessions. It’s nice for that, and I get a crazy low veteran’s rate so I didn’t want to burn any bridges.
If I want to draw from concealment, shoot multiple targets, or do any distance shooting with a rifle, I have my dad’s range available.
For shooting on the move or at night, I have a buddy who owns an old farm. But he is a doctor and is always way too busy except on the weekends. So he’s hard to pin down.
I need my own property so I can shoot like I do when I go out to the desert.
