The suspect approached the victim by lifting his shirt to expose a gun and demanded he fork over any valuables. 

The victim, however, was also armed and pulled out his weapon and shot the suspect in the face.

No, just negative things. Dude is going to cost the tax payers hundreds of thousands in medical bills, prison life, future incarceration costs, and will likely harm others in the future as payback for all the money we'll give him.

Also I'd wager that shooting someone in the face isn't a mental image that this victim is going to love having for the rest of his life.

Only positive here is that the guy was able to defend himself.
