When I look at company websites, on the contact us or about us sections. AR/AP are usually women, sales can be a mix, but typically male. President and VP = male, technical and warehouse manager = male

I was an auditor for 5 years and interacted with hundreds of company's AP/AR people and they were exclusively women.

Yes....

AP/AR is usually a woman's work. This is because it's conceptually not too difficult to grasp, and also because AP/AR is a job that requires good people skills cause vendors always be calling and b/tching about late payments.

Sometimes you can get lucky and work for a company with young hotties working in AP/AR, but most times it's usually bitter old women who fill these roles.

Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable, every fairly large company has these depts

come to think of it the head of our AP and AR are 60 year old women, lol. so yeah, pretty much a woman's job. former AP was a 70 year old woman. the job is a lot of emails back and forth between vendors and customers. have an angry vendor/customer? probably best left to a woman to help calm down the situation so they don't lose business relationships. at least that's what I think is the main reason. purchasers/sellers tend to be men and are probably less prone to anger when talking to a women and thus less likely to lose those connections.

I work for construction company that pulled in about $400M last year.

Our Accounting department has 7 people.....2 guys and 1 is the CFO the other is in his 60's. All others are women under 40.
