In my Grandfather's day, the teachers would get the belt out and hit you if you were out of line. Nothing that would cause serious damage, but enough to let the kid know that there are consequences to their actions. Parents understood that it needed to be done to teach the child a lesson. In today's day kids can talk back and do almost anything to a teacher. The teacher is scared to retaliate because they know it will cost them their job. Best they can do is call school security and have the kid suspended.

The result = weak, spoiled, entitled kids who know that they can keep getting away with their degeneracy because of the lack of disciplinary consequences.

May be that is why I will never be the Man My Grandfather was.

I grew up in the 80's and 90's and can still remember teachers having paddles and using them. And if you did get them used on you, you sure as hell weren't expecting your parents to come to school to raise hell. The difference was we had parents who knew how to raise children and teachers who weren't retards.

Agree with this, I'd be fine with what happened in that video if done to my son. I got the belt across my ass I don't know how many times. I know I learned to never do that again.
