Basically had an interview for a police position and was getting interviewed by a chad and a police woman and they asked me this. I was caught completely offguard. I said no history except 1 in highschool and the girl started laughing and my face went red. This memory keeps attacking me at night. I dunno if i'll get the next interview now.

i refused to submit an application to a city because of this.
That is way too personal and its completely crossing a boundary of not only me but my ex's for a potential employer to call them up and ask them questions about me. That is extremely unethical and I don't want to work at a police department that operates that way.
They wanted you to list all past relationships in the past 10 years and provide their phone number and link to their social media if available.**worthless college major crew**

They want to make sure you don't have a history of domestic violence. Its probably the biggest disqualifier you can face as a LEO candidate. Other then the use of hardcore drugs (Meth, crack, heroine, etc).
Pretty much just list people that love you/are gonna give a rave review. Some agencies don't really go that far into checking. Especially if everything else is squared away.
A guy listed me as a reference and it just so happened the recruiter that processed him is a pretty close friend of mine. Dude never even called me to ask about him.
I asked him about it and he said the guy looked jacked and he knew me so that was good enough to move him on in the process.

They interview family, friends, exes, past employers, etc (in person most of the time)
Police officers tend to be domestic abusers so they try to weed out people from the start
It makes the department look bad/cost them money (tax payer)
They even go to your house and see how you live. Like they meet you in your house/apartment and just talk a little to see if you live in a crack house/unstable place
(I interviewed and got an offer but ended up rejecting the offer)**Black out tape over all laptop/cell phone cameras so gov cant spy on me fapping crew**

I am not worried about what they will say i just dont think its at all appropriate because most people set up boundaries with their ex's and go no contact. I am not going to force another person who doesn't want to think about me to rehash old times with a stranger police officer over the phone.
The fact that a police department cant see how thats crossing lines just to try and dig up dirt on candidates is enough for me to not want to work for a department like that. If they are willing to go to those links just to vet employees then they are going to be terrible with how they treat their employees.**worthless college major crew**

again.. pretty stupid. if you had multiple EX'es why would you trust they would have good things to say? lol
you could take a pretty good guy and get a biased review from a biased perspective.
seems pretty inefficient. so you go off the word of others?
i would think you could prob judge off your own interpretation of the source..
i get where you're coming from , but just saying.

Yeah..
Red flag is no relationships for like ten years
Another is we broke up because he is violent or abusive
Something that may not matter is we broke up because he fawked my friend
The main thing that they are trying to prevent is this coming up in the future
If they hire a serial abuser and something happens the past always comes up
liability
Now you can have a crazy ex. Who doesn't?
But say you have a couple crazy exes. That shows poor judgement /risk assessment
Yeah its a little bit far but what they have done before in the hiring process clearly was not working**Black out tape over all laptop/cell phone cameras so gov cant spy on me fapping crew**

Instead of digging into someone’s temperament or other qualities to do with the job they want to know about your love life. What a joke. I’m no defund the police ****gg but they need ska srs rehaul in most depts. This body holding me, be my reminder here that I am not alone.
Makes me feel eternal, all this Pain is an Illusion.
